It's a great I think it's lined with stainless steel, 304 is said to be the grade, but who knows for sure The magnetic field is not at all present in it. This powdercoat finish has a matte finish and is lightly pebbled, which seems durable. After a week of daily use, it has not chipped or scratched. My review needs to be changed. The first review I read said that it worked great and kept the coffee hot. My research has shown that the coffee does not remain hot for long after 2 hours, and the lid's close mechanism does not operate properly, so I have to pound it harder to make it shut correctly.

It is impossible for any of these types of carafes to keep beverages "hot" for long enough (no matter how many claims they make) even when pre-filled with water. Having a little difficulty in locking the top, and still not certain if it can lock as tight as it should. However, it is a solid, nicely constructed item, so I hope it lasts for a long time.
