That is something I have not read in the manual and have not tested. No, I don't believe that is true.
The inside air handler, which is 27" x 24" and 9" deep from the wall, is mounted on the lower half of the wall. The bottom of my unit is 13" off the floor where I have it mounted. Within the unit's dimensions, near the bottom, there is one hole for connecting to an outside compressor. This will be used to build a 500 square foot sunroom.

Even with the fan on full, the mini split is surprisingly quiet. I really wish the remote included some kind of scheduling feature. For most people, I believe that is a critical feature, so it is a glaring omission in my opinion. br>br>On energy efficiency, the jury is still out because the unit was just installed. So far, the heating system has performed admirably, quickly heating the interior of an above-garage office to 69 degrees. br>br>Keep in mind that in order to get the warranty, the installation must be done by a professional. br>br>Also, keep in mind that if the temperature outside drops below 5°F, you'll need to switch to a different heat source. Fortunately, that doesn't happen very often in western New York (at least not without the wind chill). It could take up to ten days for something to happen.
My electric bill has decreased in the last month, despite the fact that the temperature has decreased as well. This is what I used to replace my baseboard heaters, and it heats the entire house. It's quiet and efficient, though it's a little bulky on my wall. I got this unit because lows in the winter in my area frequently fall into the single digits, if not negative temperatures. I'm looking forward to seeing how the air conditioning works in the summer.
So far, installation has gone smoothly. Please watch a video on how to set up the system in general. Use a certified hvac to charge the system if you want to keep your warranty. You can do the rest on your own. It was simple to wire. I chose to use 10 gauge wire, which is overkill for the unit, but I had some leftover from a solar project. I only had to run a 7-foot copper line, so I'll let you know if the efficiency improves.
I'm going to buy another one. It's a fantastic system that's simple to set up. The ductless ac/heat pumps are cost-effective, and this seller is excellent. Shipping was quick, and the customer service was outstanding.
So far, the unit has performed above and beyond our expectations. It's been installed in a 360 square foot glass sunroom and is performing admirably. Only problem is that I can't seem to get in touch with customer service; I've emailed and called several times but have yet to receive a response.
The installation went off without a hitch, and after two months of use, I'm very pleased!.
It is both quiet and effective.
