Questions & Answers

Can you tell me the dimensions of the exhaust hose?

I have had a couple of other 5 inch frames before, but this one is a half inch bigger.

When a hose does not drain, is that normal? This has been my favorite tool for a week now in Portland's humid weather. The rubber cap has already been removed. ?

It evaporates on its own. It is very rare for draining to be required. A room where humidity levels rebuild over 60% would require draining it. Otherwise, you'll need to run it in an area where it can't keep up. If the humidifier is not working correctly at that point, you'd have to question its function, since a room in which it is located shouldn't experience humidity changes (assuming it has windows and a fan). (Front and back doors are shut properly). In other words, it is normal that it will not need Do not worry about draining it consistently unless it needs it

Does the condenser's fan keep running after it shuts off when the temperature reaches a certain point?

Settings vary depending on how they are set. Certain models have a fan that stops a few minutes after the compressor stops. A continuous fan can run on some machines.

Is there a requirement for amps as part of the ?

A six out of 10 rating has been given to the movie. If 115 volts and 3 amps are present, then six watts are present. Neither I nor the owner's manual can find this information anywhere online, so let me know if anyone else can find it. In my case, the unit is mine, and there is information on the plate listing the

You're not going to be able to win It is great! If I could give it * stars, I would! If it were not for the fact that this AC is portable, it could easily be the poster child for the statement that portable air conditioners are the least efficient option for air conditioning OR the air conditioner of last resort
3/5

Thus, this AC was meant to be used in a room smaller than 200 square feet. The feet. The unit contains some high-end computer equipment, which generates some heat (we're talking about a laptop, not a server room) so I got it for a room almost four times larger than it actually is. I have a few observations to make It is recommended to include foam of good quality with the window installation kit We suggest adding weather stripping in cases where there are lots of gaps left after installing provided equipment. Neither one of these issues is addressed! You can at least explain the need for this to the poor sap (customer) before the installation starts. * Note •'  A panel made of plastic. the front side has a nice, solid, plastic mesh material and the back side is thin but solid. It leaves narrow gaps in its wake. Similarly, the other side is thin, flimsy plastic which douses the room in heat without even needing to dim the lights. It also leaves a total of a 1/2" gap. This is one thing I have pointed out before the install kit does not provide any tools to deal with it. Panels warm up (since plastic will do so) from the ambient air outdoors (especially when they are placed in a sunny window) AND one side also warms up from exhaust (making it Taking measurements and purchasing foam insulation before installing anything will help you save a lot of money in the long run. You can cut the sheets to your specifications since the best are in sheet form! In order to deal with gaps between the plastic panels, you will need to apply weather stripping above and below their edges. It is actually so hot from the outside that it actually requires both thermal heat shielding on the surface facing outwards and insulation on the surface facing inwards. It is not revealed to you so that you can have the resources ready before you begin the install process. The simple set of instructions would lead you to believe that it is much more complicated than it actually is. * Note •'  It is crucial to keep in mind that installation leaves you with a security risk with most types of windows since no provisions are included for dealing with the fact that your window will not stay properly closed, much less locked. Heat is generated by this thing! When AC units are first turned on, as is recommended, they should be left on for a half-hour or so When it comes to dehumidifiers, you should set them to the highest setting and turn on the highest speed This is the lowest temperature. Setting up. In other words, I started there. It was hard to handle the heat that was coming from the back of the unit The surface is almost too hot for a hand to hold. Despite the slight draft, I stuck with it because the room was already quite warm. It took about 5 hours. As a result of continuous use, it settled into a pattern and became I would describe it as lukewarm. Nevertheless, it still generates heat when it is used, which contributes to the warmth in the room, especially if the use is prolonged, which means it has to contend with itself as well as the conditions in the room. This is the very definition of inefficiency! * Note •'  As the exhaust tube reaches the surface, the temperature rises. A temperature in excess of 120 degrees F. What a cool idea It is absolutely necessary to have an insulation kit! When the new kit is installed, the surface temperature of the exhaust hose is reduced. It has a tendency to stay a bit above room temperature. This unit isn't going to be able to cool a shoe box without it! However, the areas where the exhaust hose connects to the unit and the unit itself are still prone to rust There's a place where heat gets released into a room that you're trying to cool where it connects to the window panels. This is the very definition of inefficiency! Creating a thermal/heat barrier on the tube serves both as an insulator and a heat barrier FOLLOWED by sliding it into the cool-down The best option for you is an aid sleeve It reduces the radiant heat in the tube to zero or near zero. The connection points at the ends of the exhaust tubes cannot be insulated no matter what you do. In neither the product manuals nor the descriptions will you find anything about that matter! It would be ideal if ALL of these machines came with insulation It simply will not allow them to cool the room in which they are seated without it & The equipment that they need is not provided by any of them. * Note •'  Heat is generated by the unit along the surfaces it touches, such as the surface near the blades A measure of the room temperature around the exhaust port (which cannot be insulated in any way). The temperature was never lower than 74 F. When the unit is placed in a small room, it cannot battle the heat generated by the device without losing the battle. The cooling power of this unit is simply not sufficient for even a room of its rated size. You have to keep in mind that there was not enough space for a *200 square. There should be 74 degrees of foot room below. The unit was able to achieve this only when the fan was set to the Therefore, the chances of cooling 400 sf are very slim. The feet. Does space exist? * Note •'  I hear noise. . Decibel ratings don't tell the whole story -- it's much louder than you expect. Small rooms require extra care, especially. If the fan is on high, there is no chance of hearing yourself think. The heat in the room is unlikely to win the battle between it and the fan As long as it is set to low, it will generate its own heat. Perhaps a medium setting. This unit is noisy when all is said and done. The weight of an individual. You should expect to add 10+lbs of packing material on top of what you already have. Despite the fact that it is one of the lightest such units on the market, it is quite heavy. It isn't so much a handle that allows you to move the device as different grooves in the design that can be accessed with your fingertips if you have "small" As you can imagine, it was no easy task to carry the stuff up the In part, the weight made the thing difficult to handle, not just because of the weight. It has handles along the tops of both sides so it is FAR easier to move than this dehumidifier that also weighs about the same as this unit. As a result of its lack of handholds, this unit is more difficult to move than one would expect.
• You get what you ask for. A room at 86 F (thanks to the heat wave) had 40% humidity when we started out the experiment. With 60% humidity, it managed to get the room up to 74 F (despite being set to 67 F). The fact that something with a built-in dehumidifier would need that would make no sense It is self-sustaining The evaporative effect is also impressive! It would have been ideal if the humidity level had remained at least at In other words, I'm being confronted with a room that feels cooler, clammy, and humid. I'd rather it be cool, dry, and comfortable than hot, humid, and clammy To me, this is an insufferable situation & The health of my family is affected by This may work in the short run, but not over It's unsightly when it's set up in a way that meets the requirements. As a result of the addition of the required insulation sleeve, this unit does not look quite as neat and tidy as its product picture suggests. A window unit takes up the same amount of space with the same effect. Aside from the new U-shaped window and all-glass device, this innovative unit takes up virtually no space. With the new saddle window units on the market, they will require almost as much space to operate as a window unit for the same amount of space - Compared to a window unit, these units add a security risk that is much harder to address than for a normal room sized There is not enough strength in the plastic on this portable exhaust setup to make the window truly secure, as it doesn't allow for enough pressure to be applied. It's much stronger and much more durable to have a true window unit The windows are secured in place without the worry of brittle plastic panels coming loose. This is not as easy as it sounds either to move it from room to room. As a result, you have to deal with the hassle of dealing with the gaps every time you move an exhaust panel. Not to mention finding a method for securing the windows every time the unit moves. I would like to know any Where did you hear that from? That's all right. I found it to be fairly easy Attaching the hose is all that is required. You can use the controls anywhere - they are large and easy to read To use it, you don't really need a manual. On carpeting, it is possible to move the unit with ease thanks to the castor wheels. I would like to share my advice with you. It is true that window units are While the process of removing the unit for the season is more of an issue, the installation is not more difficult (given all the defects with this unit) and the units do not transfer any of their heat back into the environment to which As a second option, there are the following The wall or the through the wall In with the This is the wall unit. A third class of units are those that are outdoors in the elements (they can present similar problems, but in a different way) In my experience, these are more expensive ways (apart from portable units). The three types I've had so far are the good, the bad, and the ugly Professional assessments of them are entirely in agreement with mine All of them are ranked the same. There is something within me that - In with the In all those years, I haven't experienced half the issues I've had with this portable unit in just ONE day of use as I have with my the wall unit which is now 15+ years old (and about to be replaced). The unit would not last you that long without trouble, let alone for so many years The company offers free cooling as part of its window and door services From through In with the Peers on the wall The headaches and migraines are probably marginally reduced External options tend to be more expensive.

After reviewing this thing, I'm going to send it back where it came from. I replaced the unit within a few days with one that was mounted on a window. Do not misunderstand me - I'm not talking about window air conditioners. This portable setup is incredibly inefficient, I would MUCH rather work with a flexible exhaust tube and stuff like that than with these ugly modular units. No matter how many tubes are used, they all have the same problems that need to be addressed exactly There simply isn't any point in paying for them or dealing with them. They are also not typically portable. Simply because of their weight, they can't function as portable units. As a conclusion, I would like to say that. You should evaluate the real cost of any portable air conditioner before buying it. In general, stay away from this one. If you took the time to read all this, I hope you found it interesting, and I hope you found it worthwhile.

All appears to be well so far
4/5

Brings the room to a comfortable temperature. There is no need for an 8000 BTU on this unit it is 9100/6100(2017) BTU. The fan can also be set to three The setup process is not too difficult. A sturdy window piece feels good in the hand. As far as exhaust tubes go, the ones that came with them feel sturdy and thick enough. It is easy to pull and adjust to fit into a The apartment is located on the bottom floor and has 900 square feet. When this unit is set at 74 degrees, it cools down to 71/72 degrees, after which it shuts off for a while until needed again to cool. The thermostat works fine in my apartment. I would recommend it to anyone with a small living space.

It's amazing how powerful the cooling is in such a small Despite our high expectations, we were surprised by the quality of the service Functionality of this unit is at the highest level
5/5

A small room cools down very quickly when using this. The hot room at the other end of the house is so wonderful that we bought a second unit for that hot room.

Heat waves can be controlled with this product
5/5

A huge plus for the music is that it's not as loud as I expected! I bought this to cool off my living room during the Seattle heat wave. I am very pleased with the results. I like the fact that it is easy to install and move from room to room, so I can cool my living room during the day and my bedroom during the The only downside is that, although the noise level is low, it's not something I want to have on at all times. tend to turn it on in short bursts of 2 to 3 hours, and that seems to be effective.

For a small area, this device is fairly dependable, but the window exhaust adapter needs to be improved
4/5

Adapters for windows that exhaust are designed to work primarily with single-sided Double-click or click twice For sliding or swinging windows, the system may not be as effective as for hung It can even happen on single-cylinder Double-click or click twice There is not enough width in the adapter for it to reach both the window sill and the seal between the window and the frame without interfering with it. In order to seal my opening, I had to create a wood spacer that would raise the adapter sufficiently off the sill. As the unit itself does not produce a loud noise, it can efficiently cool a medium-sized room It is best to choose a room that receives minimal solar gain. There is a minimal foot print, it is stable and it rolls easily on carpets or hard Using the function switches and adjusting the settings is intuitive and simple. I wouldn't be surprised if it were pretty The shipping container was damaged, but the unit as well as its accessories arrived in good condition and on time. During our 115F heat dome days this summer (2021), it was wonderful to have the roof open.

It is noisy and inefficient, but the cooling is adequate
3/5

It produces cold air in a reasonable amount. It is able to move the cold air around a small room because it is a powerful fan. I actually think the window attachment piece is better and more dependable than another more expensive Honeywell unit we own, but it lacks any soft gasket or foam lining to help create a seal with the window (the other unit had some foam in it). As a result of its noise level, it receives three stars. Loud noises aren't just produced by the fan, there is also noise produced by the pump and other mechanisms that aren't smooth and white noise-like. If you won't be far from it or are an extremely heavy sleeper, you might not be able to sleep with it in your bedroom. It is quite a big deal to me, considering our primary reason for buying this appliance was to use during the summer in order to keep cool in our bedroom. Our breaker trip was also triggered on the highest fan setting, which might be a power issue on our end, but luckily our other Honeywell unit, which is a higher-end model, popped up without a hitch This unit, which is an end model with a little more power, never tripped the breaker even on the highest setting, which makes the impression that it isn't as efficient as the ones I reviewed previously.
