Upon opening the back compartment, a foam core is visible. I don't think it's too thick, but it does the job. I haven't observed any complaints from my son when he carries these items, but he has snowboard boots, so I cannot offer any commentary
Each of my three children had a bag, and I had four. The boots I own are men's 13 ski and they fit easily into the bag, however, with my helmet in the bag (which I wanted), I had trouble getting the zipper shut so I chose the 70L bag instead. *br>Children are a women's 8 and a men's 8 ski, and a younger daughter (a size I have plenty of room, so it's no problem.
There is a connection between them
The boots I have in it are Fischer Progressor 11s. It measures about 13" high by 15" wide, so there is still room for extra items.

This is a nice bag, my son loves it because it is smaller and more efficient. It is important to note that men's ski boots interfere with the helmet space due to their height. The lid area of his Smith Quantum helmet must be placed in just the right place so that the helmet area is able to zip with the boots on. Although I've tried adjusting the way the boots go in, the problem has not been resolved. In most cases, snowboard boots don't have as much height, so fitting them should be easier. This bag can be used to carry your vest, gloves, balaclava, slim goggle case, and a few Having not used the cooler pocket on the front, I tend to forget it, so if you fill the main compartment it takes away the space for the cooler since the cooler expands within the bag, not outside of it.
Not sure if the product changed since last year, but the one I received did not have all the compartments that were shown on the website. As well as one of the front pockets, neither of the side pockets were on the bag. In spite of this, it still used the same model number in the name and tags. The trip had to be rescheduled.
This bag does so much more than just a boot bag. It is spacious, well organized, and has many compartments. There is a back compartment for the boots, a helmet and pair of goggles on top, and a nice glove for the goggles. Gloves and other items can be stored in side pockets. One thing I haven't put in here is my jacket, and I'd probably be able to fit that as well. Thanks for a job well done,.
To replace a bag that fit my boots, helmet, and other gear, I set out to design a new bag Clothes and lunch to go with the gloves plus the device that can do that. A bag like this would not have been a good choice for that purpose. By replacing the old bag with a backpack, I was basically replacing the old bag. The quality of the materials and the construction of the bag are outstanding. I didn't like the design or the fact that they didn't seem like they would stand on their own at all Dakine makes larger bags (boot lockers).
A good size for boots, helmets, goggles and many other small items. The build is good, it looks good. That was exactly what I needed for protecting my gear and carrying it. As a backpack, I don't think I will ever wear it. More likely, I will sling it over one shoulder and carry it to the locker room. This bag has been a great purchase for me.
I have to pack all my ski gear in this backpack, but it's too small. I would have to wear ski pants and a jacket while putting all my other ski gear in this bag in order for it to work for me. It's simply not possible to keep ski pants and a jacket inside.
The room is large enough to add ski pants and a I'm in love with.
My husband bought this bag for me because I love the bag I got a few years ago. It works okay but when you don't have boots in it it collapses. Unlike my old bag that was lined, this new one is not lined, so it is stiffer and won't collapse.
