I'd send a feedback message to the seller.
I'd go with the larger of the two sizes available.
These gaiters keep snow and debris out of my boots' tops while also keeping my lower legs dry. Trail runners, in my opinion, do not provide sufficient shoe coverage to keep your feet dry.

For a last-minute trip to Mount Rainier, I needed a pair of Gaiters quickly. I had planned to rent one from one of the guides there, who recommended Outdoor research gaiters, but they were the same price as the rental, so I decided to take a chance after reading the positive reviews. I didn't have high hopes:
- Exactly the right size to fit over my mountaineering double-layer plastic bootsbr>- waterproof and light-weightbr>- Because I'd be wearing crampons, I needed something tear resistant. br>br>Here are my findings:br>Reviews suggested going up a size, but I went up two just to be safe, which worked. However, I believe that if I had ordered one size larger, it would have fit perfectly. I'm 5'6", 140 pounds, athletic, and have proportional calves, so I ordered a large (though a medium would have sufficed). Despite their light weight, these felt flimsy right out of the box. br>In terms of durability, these aren't designed for long-term use; a single day summit trip tore these to shreds in multiple places. I'll get the photos up as soon as possible. These seem like they'd be fine for light snowshoeing or fat biking, but not for a multi-day climbing expedition. Since these are worn out, I'll need another pair to replace them. br>br>** Please vote 'Yes' if you found this review helpful; it really helps me stay motivated and share more with the community.
For our trip to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, I purchased two pairs of their gaiters, which did not disappoint. They kept all the snow and moisture out of our boots when they were properly sized and installed. They also helped to keep our legs warm. I read reviews that the strap at the top of the leg kept coming loose, so all we did was double back the strap through the buckle after tightening it and we had no problems. Couldn't be happier for the price.
The only issue is that it's too big - I ordered a medium, which was just big enough, but will be tight with extra layers. A medium would not fit me because I am 5'9" and have thin legs. Someone with large calves would not be able to wear it. br>Paul F. br>Paul F. br>Paul F.
(I thought I ordered large, but my order clearly states "M"). I'm 5'10", but my calves are very strong and thick, so the medium will not work for me. I couldn't even get the Velcro to connect, so I'm a little worried about the large and might order the extra-large instead. To be safe, you should go big. I decided against returning the medium ones because I had other members in my back-up plan. They might come in handy for your packing group. The only problem I can see with them is that the strap that goes under the boot may need to be repaired on a regular basis. It's made of plastic, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it holds up at Dolly Sods in West Virginia in a few weeks. I'm about to place an order for a larger size, so I'll write a review once I've tried them out.
Unfortunately, these are too big; I try to wear them anyway, but they bunch and sag. I would just order the size you think will fit and not overcompensate, as some of the comments suggest. I normally wear a Large but ordered an XL, which was too big even over my baggyest pants. I'm 6'1" and weigh 200 pounds, but my calf muscles aren't huge.
While snowshoeing, it worked great in knee-deep powder snow conditions with my snow boots! Running has given me 15" calfs, so a size large felt comfortable and roomy. I ordered a medium size as well, but it was a little too snug for my liking; however, the gaiters stayed up for the entire 4 hour hike, which I was very pleased with considering I was wearing running leggings. My legs, on the other hand, remained completely dry throughout.
However, it would only take a small amount of effort to significantly improve them. The under-heel strap is unnecessarily short, which will be an issue. It will be inconvenient to strap up, and it will most likely slip out. It's only a matter of time before we know. If he's a lot easier to use, man, just a few more inches with me. It's only a few minutes into the song. This is your standard Gator, which will last for about a season before the thread tears out. It will not be able to withstand the test of time. A strong strap cincher is located on one side. The strap, on the other hand, is short and frail. br>br>The velcro is nice and strong, and it's almost 2 inches wide, which is nice, because these Gators don't taper out. Some people do it, while others do not. These don't, which means that wearing any kind of hiking boot will put a lot of strain on the bottom strap and velcro. Even if you order a size large, they will be extremely tight. br>br>I believe that many of these businesses do not attempt to create products that meet people's needs. They simply produce a product that resembles other manufactured goods. Also, see if you can do it on a shoestring budget. It's not like anyone at this company is attempting to improve a product for the general public. Clearly.
This is the first pair I've ever owned, and even though I'm new to snowshoeing, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to quality. They fit perfectly, and as an added bonus, you get the front lace loop, which is uncommon in this price range. They're simple to put on and take off, and the lower half is made of a more durable material that won't wear out quickly.
