I suppose if someone put in some type of shims to center the skis, it could be made better, but who has the time to do In regards to this purchase, I would be thrilled with it if I had paid *$40, but for the $80 I paid, I am.

As soon as I slid the feet into place and placed my skis in the rack, I felt pretty good about the ski It holds the skis straight up without letting them flop around due to its ski strap at the top. My skis were on the rack, but when I took one off I discovered an apparent gouge in the base of it. An end of the gouge still had a string of ptex hanging from it. I noticed that the center slot has a bit of casting flash in the centerpiece that is still rough and sharp. In that slot, I don't put a ski on it, so I don't consider it a ski rack for 5 pairs of skis.

I have found it to be one of the greatest floor standing units I've ever seen. There is a sharp extrusion left over from the molding process in the middle slot that has to be ground down and then covered with duck tape or you will scratch your skis' base. However, I personally wouldn't drop the skis in hard as it could damage the base over time. The base of the skis also has drainage holes, so they do not sit in water. (See photo).

There was a discrepancy between what was advertised and what was delivered. While the rack stated that it would fit 115mm wide skis (for the standard size rack), my 104 mm wide skis couldn't fit into the slots. The skis do not stay upright when used with narrower skis, but instead lean to the side. A poorly.
