In two seasons, when it was used sparingly and only with light loads (kids), it worked well. I then found it developed a severe bubble in the middle (something others have also reported), rendering me unable to use it. Airhead's website asked me to write a review, but when I attempted to submit it I got the following No explanation will be provided for "Your review could not be accepted!"! It should also be noted that the review was written civilly, not angry or mean, and therefore deserved a response and a reaction at the very least. Airhead will never be bought again by me!.
This tube would have been a better choice if I had read more reviews before I ordered it. There is something terrible going on! As soon as we get home, I will return it. Several good rides were had by instructing riders to lean forward as far as they could while taking off fast. However, turns and wakes can cause them to shift their weight, which then causes them to go under. The WORST part of being a mom is that when they fall off or dive under water, you must circle back to them, and then the tube begins to submerge! As a result, your boat drags, making it impossible to get back to the stranded riders fast enough. The thought of it freaked me out a bit! The same thing has never happened to us before, even though we have owned many tubes. Most of the time, no riders are in the water and they just skip. In all likelihood, I'll be returning it.
The two I bought are both in good condition. These tubes are awesome. My kids can't get enough of the ropes. I bought two new ones of the same length at the same time. It is the passengers leaning forward on the tube that is making them feel like they are nose diving. Once the boat gets up to cruising speed, have the passengers lean back. It has never been so much fun for me to watch kids fight it out on tubes as when I'm driving the boat. Excellent company to work with.
We ended up getting wet about 4 or 5 times before we could get going. My son, 13, plunged underwater several times before we got moving. We have been buying this brand/model for years and it has stood the test of time better than any other tube we have owned. Having used it for half a season now, with no issues. the key is not to leave it in the hot sun. and don't yank its handle when you start tow someone. pick up the slack first and then accelerate. Don't go too fast when you are towing your car. 30 mph is a bit fast when you are towing.
When we don't use ours, we store it in the garage and it stays inflated. In addition to this, I always go through the tube to make sure it's properly inflate after.
Having been around for a long time, this product is great for kids. It has taught me the following lessons -1) All is well when at least two people or children are being towed. However, when there is only one, you need to let your arms fully extend at the start of the dive in order to keep the boat from going under. Your plane will take off, and you can move upwards immediately. 2) It's a little small in diameter for adult males, so it hurts in a 'certain place' when you bounce it. Having sat up on our backs, we stand on each side of the rope with legs on each side of the rope to correct this. I have never experienced anything like this and it is an exciting experience!.
Istanbul, Turkey, was the destination of the shipment. My order arrived ahead of schedule. I can't speak more highly of it. It's very durable, stitched well, and large enough for two It is not safe to place two adults on it. 2 pettites adults may be able to fit into that space, as there's not enough surface area for 2 big adults. Even so, it was an amazing ride! This is a product I will definitely recommend.
