This robe towel poncho was purchased for my daughter as a changing robe. She employs it following her scuba diving course.
Pros: She claims it is well-fitting, comfortable, and warm, and she enjoys the fact that her friends are envious.
Cons: It could be a little thicker and made of a different material. Because the robe is made of 85% polyester and15% polyamide and your skin is wet, changing clothes is difficult because the material sticks to your skin. Before changing, you'll need to wait until you've dried off a little more. Furthermore, because it is made of microfiber material, it does not absorb water well.
The trailhead can be an hour or more away from your house. In sweaty bike chamois for an hour and a half? Requesting problems is a bad idea. Changing in a portable toilet pot? It's shady, dangerous, and disgusting. br>br>I saw an ad for something similar, but with a higher price tag and less coverage. I figured I'd see what else I could find by going down the Amazon rabbit holes. This poncho appeared to be a good fit. Coverage for changing shirts and pants, microfiber to dry off with, a pocket I don't know what to do with, and, most importantly, camo. br>br>Tip of the day- Before changing your shirt in public with this poncho-style shirt, practice a few times in your own home. It's a little awkward, but then again, you'll never be completely comfortable with this product. The only drawback is that it is a little pricey. br>br> It's also not at all breathable. But I'm not sure why you'd want to keep it on for more than a few minutes. br>br>A picture of the armholes from the side was included. To give you an idea of what I'm wearing, I'm dressed in a bright blue shirt.
It isn't as roomy as I had hoped and sticks to wet skin, making it difficult to put on. Aside from that, I was glad I had it when I exited the warm pool building and entered 60-degree weather!.
It's a nice poncho, but pay attention to the details because the material isn't like a towel. br>It's one of the new ultra-thin, lightweight towel materials that are currently available. I suppose it does the same job, but it has a different feel on your skin than your standard towel material. br>The good news is that it folds up into a small bag (fanny pack style), making it easy to carry around or store.
We used it for the first time on a sailing trip to the Bahamas, and it was ideal for throwing on over wet swimwear when we got out of the water. While it's a little thick and warm at times, it dries quickly and does its job of preventing exposure when changing underneath it or simply using it as a robe to help dry wet swimwear. It's a little goofy and not particularly flattering, but the comic relief was much appreciated.
As advertised, this robe is too small to be used as a changing robe. I'm not particularly large (US women's size 4 or small) and can use it as a coverup but not to change after a swim. Very let down.
The fabric isn't quite what I had hoped for—it's not quite as absorbent as I had hoped. It's bright and well-made, but it doesn't absorb as much water as I'd like it to.
It's what I use to return to the pool. from the pool to the locker room, and back again My arms and legs are almost dry by the time I get to the locker room. It resembles a chami in appearance. I'm attempting to dress and undress while wearing it, and it's working. It would be more effective if there was a little more room to move around in. It's roomy, but it could use a little more room to allow for full range of motion when changing out of a wet bathing suit under cover. I'll definitely bring it on my beach vacation.
