Not good enough. Too small and delicate. The canoe gunnels have far too small grooves.

This is what I used to secure my canoe to my van's roof. Although the van does not have a luggage rack, this product allowed me to secure the canoe in such a way that it did not shift during our two-hour drive north. It is something that I would suggest.
