Questions & Answers
These are metal cleats that screw into the bottoms of "clip in" type cycling shoes and then match to Shimano petals, which allow you to lock your cycling shoes to the pedal and remove them by sliding them out laterally against a spring. For mountain biking, they are very specific, while road bikes have different styles.

My Tiem cycling shoes were a perfect match.
I bought these on Amazon but ended up returning them. The color of the metal appeared to be off, as if it was a knockoff. I went to REI and bought it in store; the price was the same on Amazon, and when I compared the two, it appears that I got a knockoff.
These work well and are made of high-quality steel. Other reviews suggested they were made of aluminum or a quickly degradable material, but the ones I received were not. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> These were purchased to replace the ones I had previously purchased from this store. Both cleats have a tolerance that isn't quite right. My shoe was swaying up and down as I rode. The wobble play was gone after I swapped them out for some old SPD cleats from my mountain bike shoe. I'm not sure if they're a knockoff or if they were just a bad batch. Getting a refund is one of the most important aspects of getting a refund.
These were purchased to use with my Echelon Ex5 in order to begin clipping in for my Peloton classes. I wear the Tiems shoes that came with the bike, as well as the pedals that have toe cages on one side and clip in on the other. These are simple to install on the shoes and clip into the pedals exactly as they should. I did have to loosen the pedals slightly with the hex key in order to clip and unclip them more easily.
I needed new cleats because I bought a new pair of spinning shoes. They're simple to put together, but I had trouble tightening them all the way. My feet weren't comfortable seated on the pedals because the cleats shifted during a spin class. Before the next class, I repositioned them, then grabbed a rag to keep my grip on the wrench stable. Today they were flawless. I bought this set so I wouldn't have to dig through my husband's toolbox to find the right size, and I keep the Allen wrench in my gym bag with my running shoes. These cleats come highly recommended.
In contrast to those who have had failures with copies, I have never had any. br>I used to race/ride mountain bikes and discovered that I preferred mountain pedals to road pedals simply because they seemed to work better in mud. It is entirely up to you in this case. br>I don't walk any more than I have to when out for a ride, but none of the cleats have ever broken or worn down to the point where it has been an issue. br>Shoes have always been the first to wear out.
I needed cleats for my new mountain biking shoes, which were made by Sidi. These were officially packaged, cost a little more, but came with the correct allen wrench and work flawlessly. It's a small investment, but it's well worth it.
It was a waste of time and money to create a brand on Amazon. They wouldn't clip in right out of the box, so I ordered the Shimanos, which I should have done the first time around. br>br>Perfect as new.
