Questions & Answers

Is it possible to get new pins?

M3-sized socket cap screws are used as pins. I buy bags of 100 10MM socket cap screws on Amazon or eBay for around $10. I rarely use the nuts, but they are available on Amazon and eBay.br>They work perfectly.

Where did this come from?

I'm not sure, but I've been using them for all mountain and endurance riding this season and they've performed admirably.

Is it uncomfortable to feel the axle in your foot because of the slight convex shape (as stated on the Oneup website)?

Yes! I can feel the axle in my 10 sleuths size 13 and it's very annoying, especially on longer rides. The rest of the pedal, on the other hand, is incredible.

Thank you for asking about the thread size. ?

These pedals have a 9/16" thread, which is common on most bicycles.

br>I've experimented with a few different flats - Chesters, Neutron clones, and Deity T- clones of the Mac - Nothing, however, comes close to the quality of these.
- I was a big fan of grub screws and didn't care for the 3mm pins on Chesters. With ten 3mm pins per side, these solve the problem and provide excellent grip. The mind has shifted.
- I used to prefer aluminum pedals because of their durability and low cost, but these glide over rocks and are a third of the price of comparable aluminum pedals. The state of my mind has shifted once more.
- I'm old and need grip on technical descents, but there's always the question of "are you REALLY locked in on these pedals right before you hit that STEEP drop?" Before you make a commitment, you should have a good feeling. " What are you going to do with them? I'm stuck on the pedals, thank you very much. Once again, my mind has been altered. What are some of my favorite things?br>1. They float away from the ledges. Last weekend, I took a HUGE hit on a technical trail, and I'm still recovering. I was sure the pedal would break if I pushed it hard enough. The pins were not even bent by me. When I hit a rock, my aluminum pedals become "sticky. " These "pop" or "glide" in ways that are difficult to describe unless you've experienced them.
2. They have a strong grip. With FiveTen Freeriders, grub screws are a thing of the past, and 3mm pin pedals are a thing of the past. There are numerous pins. The pedal is stiff despite being made of nylon.
3. They've got a big stage. When I put my foot down on the last set of pedals, I had to be "just right. " The pedal can't be missed on these. On any trail, you'll have a lot of confidence.
4. They're almost convex, and they're completely flat. I used to prefer "concave" pedals, which had a pocket in the slight curve of the pedal where the ball of my foot could rest. As I became more accustomed to it, I realized that this was simply locking my foot into a single position on the pedal. I can put the ball of my foot further forward of the axle with these "flatter" flats, which gives me more power. On steep descents, climbs, and jumps, I can sense it. br>What am I not fond of?br>Hmmm. The packaging is simple and functional. br>br>Price: I challenge you to find a better price/performance ratio than this. br>Color is a word that has a lot of different meanings depending on the context Green. Being a green person isn't easy. If you're not these pedals, that is. br>br>All you have to do now is get them.

On a small poplar, the pedal broke
3/5

These composite pedals were a hit with me. I have a set of diety composite pedals and have also used raceface chesters, and these are by far the most grippable of the three. It was fantastic to have such a large platform. These, on the other hand, were less long-lasting. I clipped my left pedal on a tree (4 inch diameter) after only a dozen rides, and the pedal snapped in half. I'd never had a problem smashing my other pedals against rocks in Moab. I'm not sure if my pair was simply defective or not.

The pedals are okay, but not great, for the price
3/5

As stated in the title, They are, for the most part, budget-friendly. I've slammed them against a variety of rocks and roots, and aside from a small amount of missing plastic, I'm not concerned. In dry weather, the grip is excellent. When it's wet, it's not as good, but it'll do. br>However, there are two things I despise: 1. It's not going to be easy for them to turn. Because of the excessive friction on the bearings, it is impossible to turn a pedal completely with one hand. I'm not sure how much energy that takes away from my rides, but it's definitely low-quality and shouldn't be done.
2. Longer rides cause my feet to hurt. It's possible that these pedals are slightly convex or flat, but after a while, the raised axle is visible - Especially when riding at a slower, steady speed and the feet are under constant pressure and do not move much. br>br>While I believe these are adequate for the price, I sincerely hope they fail soon so that I can explain to my boss why I need to spend more money on some good aluminum pedals.

Good job on the upgrade! I bought a pair of cheap aluminum flats to see if I preferred them to clipless
5/5

I went out in search of a pair with a larger platform once I had made up my mind. In a comparison I read, the OneUp Composite pedal was rated number one, and it was also a great value, with a price half or less than other pedals that didn't score as well. br>This pedal is a huge improvement over the one it replaced. The narrower profile provides better strike clearance, the larger platform provides more control and foot placement options, and the composite construction makes them lighter. I expect these to last for years. br>The composite material glides over strikes better than the aluminum pedals, which tended to dig in and stall the bike. br>The pin grip on my 5Tens is fantastic, even better than the pedals that were replaced. Because the pins grip the sole of the shoe so well, I've noticed that I can now lift a pedal while stopped without having to hook a toe underneath. br>Get yourself a pair; you'll enjoy them!.

The pedals are very nice
5/5

My knees didn't like my clipless spd pedals and shoes, so I mounted them on my road bike. The clipless system worked well, but I couldn't adjust my position or knee positions/angles on the fly to relieve my knee pain. I also didn't like having to change shoes just to go for a casual ride around the neighborhood with my wife. br>These OneUp pedals solved both of these problems by providing a nice wide platform with a thin profile that allows me to adjust my foot position and angles as needed during long rides to alleviate any knee pain. They're also extremely grippy and go with all of my running shoes. br>These pedals are very nice. I'll most likely purchase some more for my mountain and fat bikes.

For the money, it's fantastic
5/5

The pedal arrived in a timely manner and appeared to be in excellent condition. The build quality appears to be excellent, with very clean machining throughout. I have incredible traction on my trek remedy 9 with five nine free riders, even in muddy conditions. I wasn't sure if these pedal platforms would be big enough (6'4, size 14 feet), so I went with composite instead of aluminum, but they're perfect, and despite being plastic, they feel really solid; unless these fail, I don't see a reason to go with the aluminum version, at least for the time being. Overall, the pedals are excellent, especially considering their low price.
