Excellent Design - A lack of quality control
3/5

Update: So I was sent two more stands, which I assembled and discovered had the same problem: uneven or warped bars caused the stand to be wobbly. I spent four hours combining pieces from all four stands and came up with two stands that are at least acceptable. It's a real bummer that I had to spend a total of about 6 hours assembling and disassembling these stands and still didn't get what I consider to be good value. The nuts that are tack welded on the backs of curved bottom tubes are slightly angled, so it won't sit flat once the legs are attached. Again, the design is good; it's just a shame they cut corners and don't perform quality control to ensure that what they send out is of good quality. They could easily solve the problem by using a jig to partially assemble the parts and then tack welding the nuts to the back. That would take care of all of the issues. If the stands were properly constructed, I would be willing to pay a little more. Perhaps something to consider for this business. br>br>This bike rack's concept and design are truly incredible. They deserve credit for coming up with a fantastic design. It does a great job of holding your bike in place. However, I ordered two of these and both had issues with the parts and pieces. On the one hand, a metal tube is warped, causing the bike rack to not sit flat; it wobbles a lot, which isn't ideal for holding your $3000 bike; on the other hand, one of the hand nuts on the top rounded tube can't be tightened. I tried it on both sides and it won't tighten, whereas the 2nd hand nut tightens easily on both sides, indicating that the 1st hand nut is broken. The assembly is simple and straightforward; it's just a shame I have to disassemble both of them and return them; hopefully, they'll send out two more with unwarped tubes and undamaged parts. So now we'll see how well the customer service works. I'll let you know when I have something new to say.

I adore them! These have been in my possession for approximately three months
5/5

They appeal to me greatly. I bought four of them and mounted them on a garage shelf that I built. The shelf is about 24 inches tall and has legs (like a table) that allow it to stand on its own. This raises the front wheels of the bike, which pulls the back wheel in and saves space on the floor. I also set them up at a 15-degree angle, so the four bikes are parallel to one another but not perpendicular to the wall. This also pulls the rear wheels in even further, saving even more room. I was worried that installing these on a table top would make them ineffective, but they actually work well. To secure the racks to my wooden shelf top, I used electrical conduit clamps (with two screws). Of course, they'd also look great on the ground. These are extremely simple to load and secure a bicycle in. The adjustable rollers are crucial in getting the bikes loaded into the holders. My family's four bikes are not interchangeable between the four racks because you want to adjust to each bike individually. The rollers are plastic rather than the heavy rubber I had anticipated, but after several months of use, I don't see any issues.

Not improvement, but design change
3/5

This bike stand was purchased in 2017 and has received nothing but positive feedback. I ordered a newer model, which will arrive in January 2020. It was redesigned, I believe, to make the shipping box shorter and reduce manufacturing costs. Why change something that works so well? Take a look at the instructions I've included. br>As shown, the vertical section of the stand is now made up of two pieces. The slotted screw holes in the vertical section don't line up well with the mating pieces, but it can be put together OK if all of the pieces are loosely joined and the screws are tightened one at a time. The stand's four feet are not as evenly spaced as the older model I purchased. When the bike is in place, the entire stand does not sit as firmly on the floor as it did in the previous version. br>I'm just disappointed when someone decides to cut corners on an award-winning design in order to make a little more money.

When adjusted properly for both road and mountain bikes, it works well with 700mm road bikes and 29" mountain bikes
5/5

It's also portable and reasonably stable. With the bottom tire roller set to the largest position, it easily fits a road bike with a 700mmx28 tire or a mountain bike with a 29" wheel. Changing bikes is as simple as adjusting the upper roller. (I marked each position so I could adjust it before I put the bike in. ) ) I'm not sure if the frame will accommodate a "fat" tire, but it could. br>br>I was hesitant to purchase this due to some of the negative reviews, but it appears that the majority of them are due to sloppy/inexperienced assembly or improper adjustment: br>1) To prevent the stand from becoming crooked or warped, completely assemble it with the screws slightly loose. Place it on the floor and straighten it out, then tighten the screws until it's completely flat. br>2) A locking compound is included in the screws for the lower roller. It is not necessary to overtighten them; simply drive them in all the way. I believe that most people who complain about broken screws have overtightened them and twisted the heads off because they have thin heads. br>3) The bike must be properly adjusted in the stand for it to be stable. The tire must make contact with the two rollers as well as the cleat at the bottom of the stand, but it must not touch the ground. Make sure the lower roller is in the proper position (farthest from the cleat for most 26" or larger adult bikes) and that the top roller is cradling the tire when the tire is in contact with both the lower roller and the cleat. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After a full season, I purchased a second one for another bike, and both are still going strong. I frequently attach one to the bike rack on my car so that I can use it as a stand while getting ready for a ride.

My $2400 Cannondale is safe in my hands
5/5

This was purchased for my new road bike, which I purchased earlier this year. I looked at a lot of reviews for other style racks before deciding on this one. It's very easy to put together and it works perfectly. Holds the bike in a very secure position. I've slammed into the bike in the garage a few times with a lot of force, and it's always stayed put. I wouldn't think twice about purchasing one of these. My $2400 Cannondale is safe in my hands.
