The stand is bolted to a piece of 4x6 that can be clamped in one of my several vices, the stand is very durable, it can grab kids, roads, and mountain bikes. The bike is well built. Metal is used for all key components of the rotating mechanism, and all the rotating parts are well designed. An investment that is totally worth it.
My previous one lasted maybe a year or two, but it broke pretty easily with light use. This one is a lot better than the cheap one I bought previously. The product is built to last. I installed it on my workbench and have plenty of space. The fork held the bike at a 60 degree angle without issue after I tuned it up. Although I was concerned about the clearance issue, the space between my pedal and the edge of my workbench is about 2". My upgrade has been a great experience. The one I should have just bought to begin with would have been better.
The quality of your purchase is determined by the price you pay. Some reviews for other bicycle repair stands stressed the need for durability, especially in the case of There is a heavy E in my system We didn't want to buy the same tool twice. My daughter (who is into mountain biking) saw the Park Tool logo on the packaging and was thrilled. In a reasonable manner. It was expected that the piece of equipment would be of really solid construction. There is certainly plastic in the jaw clamp, but it's only to cushion the connection to the bike frame, and handles, and even the rotation to lock the clamp, but when it's compressed into place, it acts like an oversized cone. The washer's shape makes it very strong, and it won't fail even under the strain of holding up a 48# bike. The steel is of industrial quality. It does not play or bend at all. As a matter of fact, I was more concerned with my work bench than the repair stand. It was simple to assemble- easy to use- thank you. There is really no need for instructions. However, it must be installed with free play underneath where the pedals can move freely.
As long as you are not a professional mechanic servicing multiple bikes on a daily basis, this Park Tool stand would be more than enough for your home The clamping and mobility of this miter saw are very broad, and it stands up very well on my bench. A little more than half the price of the "pro".
However, there are no mounting screws included with the product. Despite its great stability and ease of assembly, the product is very disappointing. It was necessary for my case to get lag bolts that were 2 1/4 inches long and long enough to go through my 2 inch workbench and to fasten on the other side with washer and screws. Though I have not checked to see if it can actually handle the 65 pounds of weight on my electric bike, it seems to be able to handle the 65 pounds without any problems. As far as I can tell, putting it all together and starting testing took me five minutes.
According to one's space constraints, it can be adapted to a variety of positions and is a good choice for all kinds of situations. Attaching this repair stand to a bench or placing it on top of a table was an option For example, one could build a stand, or one could come up with another idea. It was recommended to me by a bike boutique, and I am very happy I got it for my garage work bench, and I have no complaints with the brand.
I like how easy it is to install and that it holds my 65 pound electric bike The bike is so easy to ride. This clamp has a strong grip and is very easy to clamp with one hand on the bike and one hand on the handlebars. Four lag bolts were required for the installation (not included, but I have a bunch laying This is one of the best investments I've ever made.
