My previous one lasted maybe a year or two, but it broke pretty easily with light use. This one is a lot better than the cheap one I bought previously. The product is built to last. I installed it on my workbench and have plenty of space. The fork held the bike at a 60 degree angle without issue after I tuned it up. Although I was concerned about the clearance issue, the space between my pedal and the edge of my workbench is about 2". My upgrade has been a great experience. The one I should have just bought to begin with would have been better.

My daughter (who is into mountain biking) saw the Park Tool logo on the packaging and was thrilled. In a reasonable manner. It was expected that the piece of equipment would be of really solid construction. There is certainly plastic in the jaw clamp, but it's only to cushion the connection to the bike frame, and handles, and even the rotation to lock the clamp, but when it's compressed into place, it acts like an oversized cone. The washer's shape makes it very strong, and it won't fail even under the strain of holding up a 48# bike. The steel is of industrial quality. It does not play or bend at all. As a matter of fact, I was more concerned with my work bench than the repair stand. It was simple to assemble- easy to use- thank you. There is really no need for instructions. However, it must be installed with free play underneath where the pedals can move freely.

However, there are no mounting screws included with the product. Despite its great stability and ease of assembly, the product is very disappointing. It was necessary for my case to get lag bolts that were 2 1/4 inches long and long enough to go through my 2 inch workbench and to fasten on the other side with washer and screws. Though I have not checked to see if it can actually handle the 65 pounds of weight on my electric bike, it seems to be able to handle the 65 pounds without any problems. As far as I can tell, putting it all together and starting testing took me five minutes.
