A word about the beginning. I am a pretty girl with wide feet and active physique but I am not just trying to look cute. Keeping mud out of my shoes while hiking and other activities is a great benefit of the higher ankles. Ticks etc. can also be an issue. After the first ride, I did several miles with no issues, and since it was the "last year's" color, I got it at a discount price. This is a score for me as I am not interested in that sort of stuff. The quality of the product is superb. I would buy this product.
The purpose of these purchases was to leave them They were waiting for me when we arrived after I had ordered them before I left on our trip. After I wore them for the first time on a hiking trip in the mountains, my husband was concerned that I hadn't yet broken them in. Since I know how Keens fit, I didn't worry, but I did bring bandaids. They never came in handy. I love the comfort of these boots. The soles of my feet felt great after 11 miles of hiking up and down hills on extremely rocky terrain.
As a first step. It's such a bummer! My boots would not fit any better and have the best fit of any I have ever owned, HOWEVER, buyer beware- I had to replace them after little more than a year because they could not withstand moderate hiking! The defective soles were just pointed out to me after my hike yesterday- There was something off about me. When I looked at the soles (see pic), I was blown away. At 54 years old and 137 pounds, I am an overweight woman. As I reviewed the warranty policy, I see that I'm out of luck, it's just a little over the 1 yr window. In any case, I have emailed Vasque with regards to customer service and anticipate getting a response soon. I have had Vasque boots in the past that lasted my whole life! In spite of the fact that I love these boots, I am not planning to purchase them Having to check with my Alaskan girl to see if hers also It is unlikely that these boots will serve you well if you hike moderately to extensively.
Having a pair of Keen hiking shoes is not the first pair I own. Compared to my first pair of low hiking shoes, these boots fit just as well. There is no need to break them in since they are ready to wear out of the box. They fit well both because I have a wide foot and a narrow ankle. The extra adjustment makes them easy to wear.
There is plenty of room in the toe box of this boot it is supportive, lightweight, comfortable and attractive. I have two pair of Keen boots. The first pair had good arch support. This pair had good ankle support. It was flexible enough to lace the boots to adjust fit and support. Despite being very durable, I wore off the tread of the first pair because I am hard on footwear! It is easy to see that this new pair will provide us with a long and comfortable relationship as well!.
While I bought these to hike with, I have found other uses for them, like for outdoor projects around the house and even for The chair is very They're so comfortable that I can forget to have them on, which says plenty about my poor, tired feet.
A safari in South Africa inspired me to buy these. As I was nervous about having too little time to "break them in," I worried I wouldn't have enough time. Although I will wear them quite a bit before the trip, I will have no trouble finding them comfortable, particularly after wearing them for so long.
July 3, 2020 marked the date when I purchased my first pair. My favourite part about these boots was the heel! Over the last year, I have put close to 800 miles on them. In the pictures, you can see the tread wore off in a few places in the rims and I was noticing rocks were passing through them and the traction drastically reduced. As for the amount of mileage I got out of them, what else can I expect? I tried another pair of Keens, a pair of Oboz to substitute for them, but nothing fit as well as these bad boys did. The first pair of shoes I purchased and the new pair I replaced did not require any break in period. There were 11 hikes I took. The shoes have been out of the box since last night and I have walked 5 miles today. On my feet, there are no blisters or rubbing spots. It's even making me consider purchasing another pair when these tires lose their tread eventually.
