The racks are sturdy and can hold two kayaks to each side, as you load one on either side one at a time. The racks initially appear to be frail, but they are in fact quite sturdy. This is a horrible and unclear set of instructions. In the hope of helping others, I am including pictures of how they were assembled on the crossbars. We removed it all when we left for a long trip and will be able to mount racks with crossbars if we are careful not to scratch the According to the instructions, we should do one of two setups. Our first attempt failed and we slid on the crossbars. Our second attempt solves the problem and makes it a bit more The ability to fold them down in my garage when they're on, but not in use, is wonderful.

I have two 2 person kayaks at 12 feet long on the rack. They stay put well due to the strong holding power. I was driving at 65 mph on an expressway, and neither of us changed lanes. It is useful to be able to fold the center bar down so we can also use the rack as a kayak rack. I used the smaller carriage bolts I purchased instead of the ones that ship as the ones that ship are very long and would have damaged.

I decided to give it a shot when I saw that it was universal. In my case, I have oval cross bars, and I found it difficult to figure out how to get them on after trying to follow poorly constructed instructions and searching online to figure out how to do so. When I finally obtained them, they were loose and easily moved. Be sure to measure your oval bars, just because they say universal does not mean they are.

Great product. I originally bought it for my 4 runner, but I already have a cargo rack I couldn't use it The size of the jacket did fit into a Rav 4 of my mom's, however. I can't say enough about how easy it was to install and how well it worked.

I found it about 15-20 minutes more difficult to set up than I expected, but once I realized it was all going to work I couldn't stop. You'll need a lot of luck to get it set up because there are few videos that demonstrate how to do it. Then, we turned the lights on and left them on nonstop for two weeks. Besides supporting kayaks without a whistling sound, it is also easy to assemble. There is nothing familiar about this brand, but the products are.
