I never leave reviews, so this is a first for me. It's just too crowded. This, on the other hand, I adore. Years of turning my ankle (football, basketball, drinking, simply waking up and stepping on a blade of grass) have resulted in a chronic ankle injury (constant swelling). My ankles aren't as strong as they used to be. It swells when I run. When I stand for an extended period of time, my legs swell. It's possible that turning 50 is to blame. br>br>According to what I've read, the gel doesn't stay cold for long enough. Wrong. If you're that hot, however, you should pre-plan ahead of time. Soak your hot foot in ice water for a few minutes. Alternatively, a separate gel pack or crushed ice in a ziplock bag can be used. The outer shell is unconcerned about what's inside, and I've read that the strap is too short. Gigantor, are you serious? What is the size of your ankle? I'm 6'3" and wear a size 13 shoe, and it fits perfectly. The air leaks were written down for me. Not after you've filled it to the off position and turned that white knob. I've noticed that the bottom of your foot is cold. Duh. When stepping into it, put a sock underneath your foot. In the end, it's a fantastic device. The temperature remains extremely low - I had to wear a sock underneath it because it was almost too cold. The pump feature is fantastic and ensures a secure, comfortable fit. This is something I strongly suggest you do.
My ankle incision was on the side, and icing that area was extremely difficult. It was difficult to maintain the proper position of the ice pack. This item wraps around your entire ankle and provides excellent compression.
I had purchased "The Coldest Water" ankle compression wrap, which is good but only allows the ice pack to incase the back, bottom, and sides of the ankle, not the top, which I really need/want because the tops of my feet swell every day due to taking blood pressure medicine, so I went looking and found the Vive Compression Ankle Ice Wrap, which appeared to cover the top of the ankle. Yes, it will go all the way up to the top of your ankle. My gripe is that, unlike "The Coldest Water," the Vive's ice pack lacks a non-slip surface. The side of the brushed fabric that goes around the ankle is sweating. Despite the fact that they both recommend wearing a sock to prevent freezer burn on the skin, because "The Coldest Water" product had the non-stick coating, I could put my foot in it and not get freezer burn on my skin because of the sweating brushed fabric side. The Vive product has standard mailable vinyl on the outside, which causes freezer burn unless a sock or other fabric barrier is worn. And, as a result of this type of barrier, it gets frost on the outside and sweats as it defrosts. If Vive switches to a non-freezing ice pack, I'd give it 5 stars because of the sweat-wicking brushed fabric.
THIS WAS PURCHASED TO HELP WITH SWELLING IN MY ANKLES. FEET. THIS WRAP APPEALED TO ME THE MOST BECAUSE IT STATED IT WAS GOOD FOR MEN'S FOOT UP TO SIZE 14. I WEAR A SIZE 12 RIGHT NOW. MY FOOT IS ONLY COVERED BY THE ICE PACK UP TO THE ARCH. THEY SHOW PICTURES WHERE ONLY THE TOES ARE NOT COVERED BY THE GEL PACK, BUT IN MY CASE, THE BALL OF MY FOOT IS NOT COVERED AT ALL. IN THE BALLS OF MY FEET, I HAVE SWELLING, TOES NUMB. I WAS REALLY HOPEING THAT IT WOULD COVER THEM A LITTLE BETTER. SWELLING IN MY ANKLE IS ALL IT MAY HELP WITH. HEEL. IT HAS BEEN COLD FOR OVER HALF AN HOUR, THE COMPRESSION ASSISTS IN KEEPING THE GEL PACK TIGHT, WHICH REDUCES SWELLING IN MY ANKLES. FOR A SIZE 14 FOOT, OR IN MY CASE, A SIZE 12, IT NEEDS TO BE A LITTLE LONGER. UPDATE NO. 10 BECAUSE IT WAS TOO HARD TO POSITION THE GEL PACK TO THE INFLATABLE BOOT, I CUT OFF THE 2 VELCRO PADS FROM THE GEL PACK WITH CARE. THEN I TURNED THE GEL PACK INSIDE OUT SO THAT THE SOFT MATERIAL WAS AGAINST MY FOOT, PREVENTING FREEZER BURNS. I PUT THE GEL PACK IN THE BOOT, PUT MY FOOT IN THE BOOT, AND STRAP IT. FLUSH IT UP! THIS WAY IS MUCH EASIER TO USE.
A ligament was torn in the process. a tear of grade 2 I applied RICE to the affected area, but the swelling did not subside. This is what the product looked like before and after it was used. 20- The only difference between the photos is 30 minutes of usage time. It's the only thing that works, and it's assisting me in rehabilitating it more quickly. Don't hesitate to purchase it!.
Also excellent is the compression. The gel pack keeps for a long time and is extremely cold when removed from the freezer. With a sock on, my foot has remained cool for more than an hour. I would strongly suggest it.
