My daughter's foot/ankle is wrapped in Telfa pads, gauze, and an Ace bandage, so I'm confident it would work. This device aids in the pain management of her severely broken ankle. We freeze it because it is well worth the money.
Yes. And no . It has a space where it could put some ice, but the strange thing is that it ices the bottom of the foot.
Yes, I had tendon surgery, and after my doctor said I could use cold therapy, this was extremely beneficial.
Just one. It's nicely constructed. My wife's leg was broken just above the ankle when she fell. It literally saved my life. It performs admirably.

The concept is fantastic, and the materials are of excellent quality. A flaw in the design is: Gel packs are too thin to keep enough cold to penetrate the wrap/holder and ice the ankle for even 10 minutes.
I was in a car accident, and my ankle and knee were fractured (fortunately?). the same leg) Anyway, I bought this and a knee brace, and I'm very happy with both of them. I don't usually write reviews, but this one was well worth my time because they are well made and the packs inside stay cold for a long time. I put these on and let them chill my leg, which helps to reduce swelling and speed up the healing process. The materials are of excellent quality, and the velcro is very secure. These are something I can see myself using in the near future. Also, the cost was very reasonable. * Strongly Recommendation *.
Very unimpressive. br>Because the 1/8 inch Inserts are so thin, they only stay cold for a short period of time. It does not wrap tightly enough around the ankle to touch it if you have a narrow foot. I had to remove the three small inserts and hold them against my broken ankle bones with my hand, which was inconvenient, but it was better than nothing. Hello, 7 weeks of this is a joke; fortunately, I have a larger item to use as well. br>To reduce serious swelling from a broken ankle, you'll need more than this. br>br>Design is crazy; inserts are all slightly different shapes, and it's a puzzle to figure out which slot they go into; some go up, some go down, and the coldness of the pads dissipates while you figure it out. Then, once you've gotten them all in the right pockets and crossed your fingers that the velcro will stay closed, which it almost never does- In the middle of your broken foot, there is a large empty hole with no cold pad touching it. Was it possible that this invention was conceived while someone was high?.
I tried it on barefoot for the first time. The way it made my skin feel was revolting. Too cold. It was a lot better once I put on a thick sock. This would be ideal for reducing swelling in a sprained foot. To repair my ankle, I needed a long plate and 15 screws. The cold parts of this brace were pressed up against metal and bones after 8 weeks in a cast. br>br>Newsflash- I'm still swollen two months after my ankle ORIF surgery. It's been a lifesaver to have this wrap/brace. The swelling is accompanied by a constant ache from the pressure. A wrap with multiple ice packs is a great way to relieve pain. 😊.
It only lasts about 30 minutes, which is all you need given how cold it is. I wrap an extra gel pack around the top of my foot, which keeps it in place nicely.
They were simple, convenient, and easy to use. Compared to a simple ice pack, it provided a little more protection. They were a little pricey, but when you really need something, you'll pay almost anything for it. It didn't feel like anything akin to highway robbery. I'll probably keep the ice packs in the freezer for when I need them, since they can be used without the ankle brace.
It's simple to use, comfortable, and unlike others, it treats both my foot and ankle at the same time! I froze everything in a gallon ziplock bag. I can't believe how the material stays at the perfect temperature and doesn't get freezer burn. to put it another way The ice was too cold, so it left red marks. I absolutely adore it and intend to purchase one for my knee the next time I'm in the market!!.
This was a lifesaver for me both before and after major foot surgery. The cold packs appear to be a little thin, but you shouldn't leave them on for more than 20 minutes at a time; I have a large heavy cold pack that I could use with this one if I needed it to be even colder. I'd put this one on first, then wrap the other one around my arch and bottom of my foot, and tie everything in place with a pillow case twirled around my foot. This was ideal for my upcoming surgery. I had a torn tendon and had an incision in the back of my lower calf, a calcaneal osteotomy, my big toe broken and a bone replaced, a couple of screws, a plate to hold my midfoot together, and my arch cut open. This was the first ice pack that was effective in all of the areas where it was applied. Just remember that if you forget and walk with it on, your packs will burst under the strain. I used to have one that was similar, but it only had two cold packs, and they were the beaded kind. Within a few days, both cold packs began to leak. The gel packs are better for me because the beads always seem to leak on me. I also liked that you could keep it pretty tight for pressure, which I believe helps with pain relief when combined with the cold.
