My eight year old son has the youth size and he is really skinny, so the adult size is much better for him. The construction is very solid and the backplate is top notch, but make sure you get the adult size if your kid is any older than about 7 years old. There was nothing that indicated that this item was that small, so I gave it three stars.
I found the shoulder pads to fit well on my son.
I found the adult size to fit well and comfortable His favorite part of it is the music. A surprise is the lightness of the backplate and the immensity of the mount A comfortable fit. One of my only complaints is the attachment system. As a result of other reviewers' advice, I opted to take my own advice ZIP ties will be used to hold the bag in place. I found a way to do it. He was surrounded by his teammates and his comrades A real beast on the field, the picture was a hit with coaches!.
It came fast and fitted perfect. My son is 6'2 250 pounds and he's only 14 so I was concerned that when it would arrive it would not fit him because he's not a normal youth size. However, Battle always delivers.
It is a perfect fit and provides complete protection of the lower back and spine. The weight of my son is 109 lbs and his height is 5'3". As a result, we opted for the adult size since the youth size was too small in terms of His lower back is covered, as you can see from the picture, and he is not restricted from moving any part of it. In order for the straps to stay on your shoulders during a game, place a small drop of Loctite on the threads where they attach to the shoulder pads so they don't lose their grip.
He was pleased with the purchase, though I think it may be a bit expensive. As long as his satisfaction is met and it helps to protect him, it's okay. The gun was well padded, and easy to install.
It is easy for screws to fall out. The zip ties I used on my sons were necessary.
It was very useful for my grandson to protect his lower back with the brace. The bolts on his back had to be removed and put in again I wasn't sure how to put this on until another member of the team said to remove the bolts and put in the new ones. That was very simple.
