This is a very well-made and extremely solid backplate, but if your child is older than about 7 years old, you should get the adult size, as the youth size is too small for my eight-year-old, who is quite thin. There was no indication that it was that small, so I gave it three stars.
It's a good fit for my son's shoulder pads.
This was purchased for my 9-year-old grandson, who is 5' tall. 134 lbs. The adult sizing is comfortable. It appeals to him greatly. The back plate is a pleasant surprise in terms of weight. a pleasant experience My only gripe is with the method of attachment. After consulting with other reviewers, I decided to go ahead and do it. Zip ties were used to secure it. This was successful. Every single one of his teammates Coaches were enthralled by the photo, especially since he is a true beast on the field!.
My son stands 5'3" tall and weighs 109 pounds. We chose the adult size because the Youth Size was too small in size. As you can see in the photo, it covers his entire lower back area while allowing him to move freely. I recommend using a small drop of Blue Loctite to secure the fastener threads to the shoulder pads so they don't loosen up during play.
My son is 6'2 and 250 pounds, and he's only 14, so I was hoping it would fit him when it arrived, but it did. Battle never disappoints.
Exactly what my son was looking for. He likes it. I think it's a little pricey, but as long as he likes it and it protects him, that's all that matters. br>Was simple to put together and well cushioned.
Screws have a tendency to fall out. Both of my sons had to be zip tied.
