Questions & Answers

What method do you use to determine which size to purchase? My palm measures 3 1/4 inches in circumference. I'm 5'4"?

Medium was my choice (and I'm glad I did). My hand is 4" across, including the thumb, and I am 5'9" tall.

The length of my daughter's hand is only 7". Which size would be the most appropriate for her? Is there anyone else out there with a hand that's about the same size as mine?

I needed a medication, so I placed an order. In order to ensure that they are the right size. I am a small, size 6 ring for women.

What size of hand would a person with an 8-inch wrist use?

A medium paddle is recommended for a 7 because of its vertical length and circumference (excluding your thumb). Vertical length is 25" and horizontal length is 8". 9" in diameter For a vertical length of 8" and a circumference of 9" or more, a large paddle is recommended. I hope this information is useful.

Where can I find a sizing chart for swim paddles so that I can get the right size?

On the Finis page, there is a sizing chart. On the back of the Finis paddle package, it is also displayed.

I'm not at ease in this situation
3/5

I don't like leaving negative reviews unless they're absolutely necessary, so I gave it three stars due to a comfort issue. When I swim, I usually use webbed neoprene gloves, but I thought I'd give these a try for a change. I didn't notice much of a difference in resistance between the gloves and these, but the agility paddles are effective. Another reviewer mentioned my issue, which is the sharpness of the hole into which your thumb goes. It was digging into the base of my thumb, and after about 5 minutes, I couldn't stand it any longer, so I put on my gloves again. If these paddles had a form-fitting design, they'd be a lot more useful. They'd be great if they had a better-fitting neoprene insert for your thumb, or even just a smoother or padded hole that wasn't as sharp (for lack of a better word), but as is, they hurt after only a few minutes. I guess I'll try sanding around the inside of the holes to remove the edge, or maybe add some sort of pad, as suggested by another reviewer, but this is an obvious design flaw that any testing of the product should have noted.

They do float, to be sure
5/5

These are perfect for me. I ordered a medium because I am 6' tall. I'm incorporating them gradually into my workouts and don't think I could go any smaller. As long as you use proper strokes, they stay on your hands quite well. They also float if one comes off, which is a huge plus. In a pool, this is usually not a big deal, but in the ocean or on a lake, it can be critical. I don't see why anyone would want to buy the non-certified version. There is no longer a floating version. br>br>My only criticism is that the entire through where your thumb is inserted can rub against your thumb's base. I'll probably sand it down a little to make it smoother, or use tape to soften it up a little.

Paddles that are perfect for beginners! I used to take swimming lessons as a kid, but they weren't very good (I guess I learned how to doggy paddle lol), and now I'm trying to gain confidence in the water, improve my form and technique, and overcome my fear of deep water
5/5

So I'm a *very* inexperienced swimmer (baby steps, lol). In the pool, I have a buddy who is assisting me. She let me use her paddles and explained that she used them for drills when she was on a swim team in the past to help with form (which I desperately need). Her paddles, on the other hand, were difficult to use and had a rubber band to keep them in place, which would occasionally slip off and didn't float, making them difficult to find. They did not appeal to me. br>br>I bought these paddles for myself because I like how they don't have a rubber strap and float when you remove them. They're actually quite nice when I'm using them properly, but as soon as I lose my form, they fall off; luckily, they float, so I can easily grab them and try again.

Strength in the water! As part of my "trying not to die" program, I've recently begun swimming laps
5/5

I was watching YouTube videos to improve my stroke and came across a swimmer who was using paddles. I already own Finis swim fins, so I decided to try these. They're a lot of fun to swim with and add a lot of power to my stroke. My shoulders and arms are getting stronger, and I was only able to use them for a few laps at first. I'm working my way up to using them on a regular basis, and I highly recommend them!.

Corrects the technique of the hands and fingers
5/5

It worked to keep my pinky fingers from pointing upward when I bought it. My fingers now stay together after using them every day for a few weeks. br>I wore gloves because the plastic had started to irritate my thumb. I swim two miles every day, seven days a week. br>Gloves saved my life. I removed the finger tips from my gloves so that I could use my fingers if necessary.

Paddles that are perfect for small hands
5/5

After seeing a coach on Instagram talking about paddles, I used it to prepare for an open ocean swim. br>br>I have small hands, so the small size worked well for me. I didn't find the beginning to be unsettling. The opening cuts against your thumb, according to some reviews. This is a problem with your technique. You shouldn't be clutching this to your chest for dear life. br>br>I'm very happy with it and use it for both freestyle and treading water.

Paddles with your hands Paddles that are good for training
4/5

I'll add my name to the list of people who have expressed their dissatisfaction with the awkward and nearly painful thumb holes. My thumbs have grown accustomed or calloused to the thumb hole as a result of repeated use. br>Since using these paddles, I've noticed a difference in my stroke and form. It's fantastic that they can also float.
