Questions & Answers

Does boar hair actually grow on animals or is it ?

There is a statement on the website that says it is It was a great purchase last year, and I used it for I like how well the knife works. A good knife that does not require a lot of sharpening.

My knife came with an auto-sheath, but I would like to buy an extra one. Where can I find it?

The one I have is mine. In other words, they certainly are. This is an available option.

The product is eligible for international shipping from Amazon, but I notice that it cannot be delivered to Canada. What are my chances of getting it here in CND?

Thank you so much! Canada is one of the countries that we can ship to. We appreciate you pointing out that the product is not eligible for international shipping on the product page. Those are going to be amended! The British are a country-wide group

During use, does the knife blade remain open easily, and if it doesn't, is there any mechanism for locking it open?

The blade does not have a positive mechanical lock, but it opens very rapidly, and the end of the blade shank lies flat in the well without wiggle. A knife is held correctly for harvesting in such a way as to draw the sharp edge Consequently, there is no pressure on the reverse side of the blade, and you do not have to worry about the knife closing on your hand. It is not the knife that makes a difference, but how you use it. My wife thinks this is the best harvest tool she has ever experienced.

This is an overpriced and overhyped product
3/5

When one purchases a work of fine craftsmanship, even at a high cost, there is a certain joy and satisfaction. There is no such thing as this. The item was a gift for a friend who wanted a similar item, so I will not return Although I believe quality drives the price more than cultism, I am inclined to believe the price is influenced more by the caché of the product. While another reviewer said that the blade is "so sharp, I cut myself" (as another reviewer stated), I found the blade to be dull when using the fingernail test. And the curvature makes it difficult I suspect the locking mechanism will lose its springiness over time, allowing the blade to be unlocked by accident. The locking mechanism is made of a very thin steel. A quick lacquer spray appears to have been used to finish the wooden handle, rather than any particular craftsmanship. In the butt end, there is a hole that might be used for a belt or strap. A lack of attention to detail is demonstrated by the rough and raised edges of the hole instead of sanded surfaces. Aside from the brush built into the handle, this is the only thing that makes it superior to an equivalent size locking pocket knife. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to replace that once it stops working. I bet there is some prestige to be gained by whipping this out in the company of other mushroomers, but if I were you, I would buy a cheaper pocket knife of better quality.

This is a convenient, thin, and sharp tool! This knife caught my attention when I watched a YouTube video about mushroom foraging and found out it was a beautiful blade
5/5

A few days after I placed the order, the item arrived. This pocket guide is always ready for those moments when I need it As a result of Taking a moment to go foraging. As I was concerned about the durability of this brush, I have found that it has held up very well, even though it has been in my pocket all day long. The brush is very stiff, so it hasn't become damaged by being in my pocket all day. Brushing off the bugs on mushrooms is a great use for it. Having cut myself once, but it was user error my first time, not realizing how easy it was to cut through a mushroom with this blade. This bad boy would heal without a scar (because of its sharpness! My first experience with the locking mechanism was a little difficult, and I have learned to lock it easier as time goes on. When I first got the knife, locking it had been a bit of a challenge. This knife grows on me more and more as I use it more and more in the years to come, and I look forward to using it more in the future! I have edited the text The following is a photo of the knife after it has been carried on a daily basis. In the hair from the boat, you can see it is still alive!.

Blades with a dull appearance
3/5

Though I am probably going to forget to follow up later, this is an initial review. It arrived very quickly (which was surprising). Others have already commented on the dullness of the blade. This knife is actually sharpened in some spots, so some effort was made to make it actually sharp. However, half of it was missing I think it's a good design. It's good at best. I like how it fits my hand and there is a good amount of durability to the bristles. Smooth and easy to use, the locking mechanism makes the mechanism of the lock easy to My only wish is that there was a way to open it with one hand. The design I have in mind does not improve on the original since you might cut off the nob or something as you slice In the case that I couldn't sharpen knives, I would be more frustrated by how dull the blade is.

Does this opinion reflect the views of the author? The blade had been poorly sharpened, so the edge of the blade could be seen being flat, which led me to question the authenticity of this knife
3/5

I am not cleared as to what happened here, since knives of this kind are already pretty affordable, so it seems impossible for them to produce a cutterfiet. This is not really relevant to the review of the knife itself, but I wanted to mention how I was treated when I opened the It was only the cardboard box the knife was supposed to come in that I received, and I had to contact Amazon fulfillment to request that another be sent.

The project is unfinished
4/5

Let me explain why I would like to give less stars and more stars. Those are the two I ordered. The one that came in was perfect. An excellent craftsmen's knife, it has a sturdy brush and is sharp and well-made. This one gets a 5 out of In the second one, nothing was completed. There was a rattling noise coming from the neck, which prevents the blade from opening or closing. Not only was the blade dull, but it hadn't been sharpened either. This gets a 3 out of 5. A quality control oversight or issue that appears obvious. The one I have will stay with me, and I will buy a Morakniv mushroom knife as a replacement as a gift.

How on earth did I wait so long to get a proper mushroom knife? It's I like this so much
5/5

It's only been years since I last used a kitchen knife or my spyderco, but I'll be damned if this curved blade won't do the trick for harvesting maitake, Laetiporus, Also, the brush is ideal for dressing the field. Even if you wait until you get home to brush off the dirt, it will almost always get stuck in the gills or pores. It is the perfect knife for me.

The final touches are almost done
4/5

It is required that the brush be replaced on this product. Just have it have a screw that fits into a nut in the bottom of the knife. Just don't overtighten it, just be sure it is a simple locking mechanism. Stuffing the brush in a bag carelessly could easily result in broken or bent bristles. I know the steel used in the blade, and it is not good. The only thing that makes it better is the price. With a steel in your pocket and a round diamond file, you could use these tools indefinitely. The process of sharpening is quite easy if you follow a consistent procedure. You'll love it because it won't rust. So if you're a fan of cow patties, this is the one for you. A gift was bought for her. It was priceless to see the reaction when I wrapped it with brown paper. The box this comes in is great for a gift box, and the quality of the handle is excellent, the grain looks decent, and the blade fits squarely. A mesh bag and this are all that are needed in order to mushroom hunt in an environmentally friendly manner.
