Questions & Answers

Would you be able to bust a hole into an inflatable beach ball with this?

With a pencil you can poke a hole in a beach ball, and of course this will increase its buoyancy

In the picture of the black model, the blade does not have "USA" written on it. Does the picture have something to do with it?

I have it engraved on the blade just below BUCK.

There is no mention of blade composition in the description. What material is this? Is it stainless steel 420HC? I would appreciate it if you could let me know. ?

The answer is yes. There are two models. The first is model 285 and the second is model 385. reason, in the description of the black knife it does not mention it, but the same knife does in the description of the camo knife. Their standard steel is the steel they use on their low-end models and I believe it is the same steel that they use on their higher-end

It's very simple
3/5

A solid foundation. Build to last. I have owned this knife for at least 3 years, and I couldn't be happier with it.

The knife represents for me the definition of a beater knife, as it achieves the perfect balance between cost and quality for a tool I will use and abuse everyday. The pros are The spine of the blade is thick (the dull side). A simple mechanism makes it easy to clean when all the dirt and grime builds up.
Price. It may not be a "buy it for life" knife like a Buck Hunter model, but it's cheap enough that you can abuse it and break it without concern. The edge is held well by the device. Put an edge on it, but not a razor thin one, that defeats the purpose. It is important to grind it thick and sturdy so that you do not have to resharpen it for quite some time. The purchase of this device is not a lifetime purchase as I said earlier. This does not seem to do much damage to the price, but it's worth noting. Although this is far from the best, it is better than Chinese stuff, and the thickness of the blade has kept it as durable as I could hope for. I think this knife is far more valuable than its price suggests and if you break it someday I am sure you will not hesitate to buy a replacement.

The blade is good, but my problem is with the rest
5/5

That's all right. A small knife such as this one is fine for most This knife is not designed to replace a knife like the 110 or 112. This is not the knife you want if you need a work knife. Because it is not strong enough to handle heavy tasks, it will not stand up to them. In my opinion there are no liners, no washers, and as far as I can tell there is no metal spine. The pins are typically weak, so depend on your luck there will be heavy play. It is the knife blade that is at its highest The 420 Buck blade holds its edge well and remains razor sharp. Horizontal and vertical blade play is evident in the plastic handles. Buying a cheap, light, small task knife will make you pleased as long as you are aware of what you are purchasing. I think Buck is a great brand of knives, but make sure you know what model you are buying and how you can use it. For me, this is a backup knife that will work in a tackle box, glove box, emergency kit, junk drawer, etc.

A great buy for a low price! It's great to read some of these reviews about this knife
5/5

This knife does not feel good to me. I know it's a cheap knife, but it really feels cheap. I give this product 1 out of 5 stars! There's a $20 knife made in the U. S. A. People, that's what it is. When it comes to knives, this is a good quality knife that gets the job done. You don't have to spend a lot on a good quality knife. The knife is light compared to some other knives that I've tried, but I bought it for that reason. The knife is made in the USA and is a great tool!.

I am very pleased with this lightweight quality knife
4/5

It is very impressive considering its price point, and the blade comes razor sharp right out of the box, so much so that I was able to feather the paper right away. The MuddyGirl logo graphics scheme is attractive, not every knife has to be matte black and skull-adorned to be good. It remains my EDC of choice for a variety of tasks. Locks are easy to operate and provide positive results in their operation. The only drawback was the amount of force required to open the blade initially, but after using Graphite powder to lubricate, working it in, it now flicks open very easily and can be rolled open by the thumb post as effortlessly. To date, I have not experienced any loosening of screws in my clip despite daily usage. In spite of having a large hand for a lady, the handle is more than adequate especially with the additional jimping on the knife. I would recommend it highly as an excellent EDC or utility knife. In case you wonder about the dimensions, they are in US Standard Inches. An approximate width of 0 mm is the handle width. The handle measures 5 inches and fits over the hand comfortably.

The knife was good as a beginner's tool
3/5

I bought it to add to my EDC backpack. I'm fine with it The knives are not quite as sharp as I would have expected from Buck knives, which I really enjoy. Knives of this type are generally excellent. As the first love of my father, it has since become the first love of my own and my nephews, whom I gave it as a birthday present. As far as EDC needs are concerned As a result, it is not a true 90 degree flat surface or striking surface, and it is also a bit light to carry heavy loads.

Similar knives from Buck do not have this feature
4/5

It is an extremely fast shipping service. I found this knife, the Bantam 285, to be more of a used knife someone put into a new box than I have experienced with other orders I have made, specifically Buck knives which I have had since the 1970s. Despite its dullness and dirtiness, the blade is not sharp. Because the Bantam 286 knife is sharp and a great knife for the money, I ordered a smaller version of that knife. I cannot believe how good these knives are for the price. I think I paid like $20 for this particular knife, so it's not worth my trouble to send it back. I am disappointed. It might have come from this way at the factory.

The knife is well designed, affordable, and the quality is good for the price point
5/5

This knife is mainly used for utility purposes and is a lightweight daily carry knife. I like the unpolished look of this blade, but others may think it's cheap. That said, I am impressed by how sharp the cutting edge is, as well as how sturdy the whole blade appears. All parts are tight and no loose or flimsy parts are evident. There are only a couple of complaints I have right now, and I've only carried it for a few months. The metal clip is already patched up and there has been some chipping off of the black paint. It is only a cosmetic change. Lastly, it is unclear how long the plastic handle and body will last, as well as the rivets that hold them together. However, I will have to wait to see what happens.
