Questions & Answers
There are two planting seasons: one in the spring and one in the fall. Early spring and autumn are the best times to visit. The best time to plant in the fall is when the summer heat has subsided and the evenings have begun to cool. It's usually between July 15 and August 15 in northern areas. Sept 15. However, depending on where you are, the price may differ slightly. Planting maps are available on the Whitetail Institute's website as well as the back of seed bags.
I see no reason why it couldn't, especially since I use triple 16 twice a year. It works perfectly.
Examine the zoning areas and planting dates on their website. ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED ON THIS WEBSITE. It's insane how well stuff works.
For many years, I have planted these products numerous times. It takes time for new plantings to establish themselves. Clovers establish their root systems first, followed by alfalfa later in the spring as the weather warms. Almost every time it appears that the plot is failing, it suddenly explodes. I'd estimate that the plot will begin to fill in by May or June (depending on rain). In addition, it appears that a new plot does not fill in completely until the second year of growth. My guess is that you'll see an initial flush by June (depending on rainfall). Then it'll get hot and dry, and the plot may go dormant, but if we get some rain in the late summer/early fall, it'll be lush by fall, if not by next spring. Keep in mind that it's growing season, so you may need to spray the plot with selective herbicides to keep weeds and grasses at bay. For grass control, I use Clethodim, and for broadleaf control, I use Raptor.

Well, I've been living in the western parts of the country for a while now. There were few reviews on how well these products worked for different deer species, such as Blacktail. I've used the Clover, Fusion, Chicmagnet, and Alfarack plus types of alfalfa, and they all work well. All of the seeds have flourished! Broadcast seeding is effective, but a seeder is required for optimal germination. These seeds grow better and faster as they come into contact with more people. My plant grew significantly faster after I installed a water system. I'm referring to a 4" difference between watering and not watering. The customer service at Whitetail Institute is second to none, and the seeds are extremely long-lasting. You will not be dissatisfied with this product.
This is something I've been using for a long time. At the end of the day, the deer are always in it. I've got two food plots planted with this. One of them is covered in small rises. The clover grows thickly in the valleys, while alfalfa and chicory are more prevalent on the sides and tops of the rises. One point to consider: Check the pH of your soil. It should be around 6. Before planting any alfalfa, make sure it's a pH of 5 or higher. That was a difficult lesson for me to learn. Alfa Rack was slow to grow the first time I planted it. When I called Whitetail Institute, I got a live person on the other end of the line! They assisted me in identifying the issue. A soil test revealed a low pH level. I fixed it, and I've never had a problem since I planted it.
This seed was in a TINY bag. I used iron pellets and lime to prepare the soil, as I did last autumn, but I'm not sure how well it will grow before the forest leaves come out, blocking out the sun for my deer food plot. I was only disappointed by the bag's size and the length of time it took to arrive.
We tested the soil, tilled it, limed it, fertilized it, filled it, and compacted it, but nothing grew.
The plot has been going on for about 40 days. We didn't get as much rain as the others, but we did get a lot of rain today.
Food plot seed of the highest quality.
THEY APPRECIATE IT.
