Steel that has been galvanized. The thickness is 090. Well made
My barrel fit perfectly over a 55 gallon barrel, though I didn't measure.
Around the barrel, there is about 1/4" of play. Mine works great on a tripod, but getting the lid on while hanging may necessitate some modifications. off.

The lid is fairly heavy, but the included springs/bolts help keep it down in the event of varmits or wind/storms. I use mine to protect a burn barrel from the elements until I'm ready to use it. I think I stretched the springs a little too far, but it works fine. It's a fairly generic setup, so I'm confident I'll be able to find replacements if one breaks.
My barrel was already hung from a tree, so I used self-tappers. As a result, I think it's fantastic. It's simple to use and does exactly what it should.

Getting rid of at least one spring is a must. I use these on 55 gallon deer feeders and they work perfectly. Two springs, on the other hand, do not suit my needs. On one side, I use a small chain, and on the other, I use a spring to keep it in place.
I'm returning this lid. It's a sliver of a depth. I don't think it'll be watertight even with the springs holding it in place. Aside from that, it's a well-made product.
If you have a large critter problem, such as raccoons, place a brick on top of it to make it even more effective.
Hardware was included in the package. I don't want to meet the animal who chews this lid, so it's galvanized as described.
