Questions & Answers

How long does it take an application to complete on average?

For the first three trips, I've developed a habit of using it after every shooting trip without fail. After it has formed a "bond" with the metal, I back off a little and may just run a boresnake with a full application every three days. 4 trips. At that point, there's nothing else you can do.

Do you leave any in the barrel after cleaning it?

You can, because it clings to metal surfaces even when you're shooting. Some people prefer to clean and then run patches. When I use CLP products, I usually leave my barrels wet.

Is this item compatible with nickel teflon-coated parts (BCG, upper, charging handle)?

Yes. It's something I use on just about everything. It really works. This product thoroughly cleans my charging handle and bolt carrier group. For what you get, it's a good price. And if you use it sparingly, it will last a long time. I've used it for cleaning at least 50 times and there's still plenty left.

Do you use the liquid labeled "extreme" or the paste in the barrel?

In the barrel, I mostly use liquid and extreme. I start by cleaning with the solvent, applying the lube, and then running patches through until they are dry. If it's really filthy, I'll re-clean it. Apply more lube and repeat the process. I really like it.

There are some good points, but there are also some serious issues
3/5

I've been a strong supporter of Frog Lube CLP products since I first started using them several years ago. I had the problem of using too much at first until I read the literature and watched the videos, after which I used it without issue for years and argued with people who slandered the product. br>br>When using the guns regularly, pre-pandemic, Frog lube works as advertised, quick cleanup, good lube, no rust. During the pandemic, several guns saw very little use. I pulled a 1911 from its case and attempted to chamber a round in order to carry it. The action was so GUMMED up that when the slide was released, it oozed instead of jumping into battery! NOT GOOD. I talked to a few people and they all said the same thing. br>br>This product is useless to me if the weapon can't be treated and stored for at least a year and a half. Stick to petroleum-based lubricants and protectors that are well-known and reliable.

I've changed my mind! I was skeptical at first, but the kit was on sale for around $30, so I decided to give it a shot
5/5

I recently completed an AR, so I figured now would be a good time to give it a try. br>I was very careful to follow the instructions. And I only used the paste to lubricate the internal parts (rather than the gel that came with it). The function appeared to be smooth, and the fail zero bolt I installed was "slippery as a fish," as another reviewer put it. I finally decided to take it apart and clean it after a few hundred rounds of function testing, sighting in, and just plain shooting. br> It was your typical dirty AR after a few hundred rounds, as they are. However, unlike most dirty ARs, it was easily cleaned without the use of any solvent! Although there was still some carbon buildup on the bolt, I sprayed it with the solvent while cleaning other parts, and a light scrubbing with the included nylon brush brought it back to life. I couldn't believe it; the only time something like this happens is when you're dealing with a serious 9 and a scrapper tool! It also has a nice minty freshness to it. br>br>I applied a light coat of the gel to the upper and brushed a little on the bcg. Overall, my cleaning took half the time and used half the cleaning rags as other ARs. br>br> I'll give it some time and see what I can do. Results from a sticky bolt mosin nagant and a glock will be included as well. We'll see if I go ahead and buy the larger supply and use it on all of the guns.

This system is fantastic
5/5

This system is fantastic. Although you must heat it in as you apply the coats, I have fired hundreds of fast rounds through my handguns and clips after treating them, with no fowled shots or loads from the clip. It maintains the appearance of my gun and ensures that it runs smoothly. After it's been treated, cleanup is a breeze. It only took a few light sprays with the spray gun and a quick wipe down, a few drops in the bore, and a Boresnake run through to finish it. I used the system on a few fingernail clippers that rusted out quickly and a pair that was starting to rust, and the rust cleared up during treatment and hasn't returned in over a year, and the dang clippers are still so lubricated they spin way too easily. Excellent product with a pleasant mint scent. I still like that it's non-toxic, and aside from using a heat gun to cure it in at first, it's a breeze to use.

Frog Lube is gone, and it's time to go back to the old reliable
3/5

This product disappointed me when I used it on my Springfield 1911 9mm. We applied the Frog Lube according to the instructions. The lube smells and feels good to me. I think the Frog Lube Solvent is the best I've ever used, and I'll keep buying it. My 1911 began jamming and stove pipping rounds after I applied the lube. I fought to get 100 rounds through the gun, but it took me ten times as long because I had to clear jams every two rounds. I returned home with the gun, which was very easy to clean thanks to the Frog Lube. I experimented with the paste and the slide to see if I could smooth out the action. From October to February, I shot this gun at least twice a month, and I'm still having issues. The Frog Lube made the slide so gummy that it wouldn't cycle when fired in the 65-degree weather tonight. The Frog Lube warmed up enough to allow the slide to function after 40 rounds were manually ejected. Frog Lube may work well on the AR platform, but I'm not going to use it on my handguns any longer.

This kit is not one of my favorites from FrogLube
4/5

FrogLube is an excellent product. I've applied the paste to all of my guns, and they've all worked perfectly. With proper application, it cleans up after a couple of 3-shot bursts in my AR. It was a breeze to shoot 400 rounds each time (I didn't clean every round to test it). For lubrication, simply rubbing some on the area that needs to be lubed is enough to make it run through all types of heat, dirt, and for long periods of time. Two issues I have with FrogLube are that application is a pain and that it is quite expensive. Heat the part that needs to be lubed, scrub, let sit for a while, and then wipe off the excess. When you can get a large tub of grease for a fraction of the price and it works just as well, minus the all-natural ingredient thing, price becomes an issue. (half star)br>br>In terms of this kit, I believe it is a waste of money if you already own a basic gun cleaning kit. The swabs and brush, in my opinion, are largely unnecessary because most of us already have an old toothbrush and Q tips at home. Although 1 oz of Solvent is adequate, it is insufficient for multiple guns, and there are better options available. Although the liquid FrogLube is useful, the paste is all that is required. The towel, on the other hand, is nothing more than that. Is it worth $32 if you don't have anything else at home? Maybe if you don't have anything else, but money would be better spent on buying your own solvent ($10-$20). 15), a tub of Frog Lube paste ($10), a set of five brushes ($5), dozens of swabs ($5), and a set of microfiber towels ($10-$15). 15). All of this assumes that you don't have any toothbrushes hidden behind the toilet seat or in your battery drawer, and that you don't want to use Q-tips. tips. The total cost is around $45 but you get a lot more bang for your buck than with the FrogLube kit. br>br>Total 3 (one star)br>br> five (5) stars.
