Questions & Answers
Although we are not necessarily spreader loyal, we generally use a Scott's hand spreader and always recommend starting on the lowest setting (1 or 2) and walking quickly while keeping a close eye on the seed dispersion. Because they are such small seeds, a little goes a long way! Remember that soil quality is crucial, and that you should always test your pH. Food plots I've planted in the past have been ignored by deer because I live in a heavily agricultural area in central Ohio. I planted this sugar momma in mid-August, and a month later, I've got dozens of photos of deer eating it all day, every day. It's been a bit of a slog, but the plot remains intriguing.
If I see deer in it, I'll make a change.
So far, so good. I planted these seeds and my food plot was green in just four days. I'll be purchasing more.
