Because there were no cut slots for feet, I chopped the spurs and superglued them to each side of the beard; if my memory serves me correctly, you could also wedge them in front of the fan horizontally.
It's a kit for displaying your turkey tail and beard at home.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no The tail feathers are attached to a fatty triangular piece known as "the tail" that can be felt. Cut up through the base of the tail from the underside, then skin forward for a few inches up the back and sides. This will provide you with the entire rail feather fan as well as the base feathers needed for a nice mount. Scrape any fat off the skin; there won't be much. You can remove a small amount of tissue/fat from the underside of the tail with care, but be careful not to dislodge the tail feathers. Exposed skin and tissue should be sprayed with a strong salt solution. Pin the fan to a large piece of cardboard by pinning one through the tail where all the feathers meet, then fan out the tail feathers and pin the bottom feather on each side to keep the fan fully open. To keep the fan spread out, place a pin above the shaft of the feather, rather than driving the pin through the feather. After you've pinned out the tail cut, sprinkle some more salt around the base of it. Trim the fat from the base of your beard as well, sprinkle it with salt, and let it dry with your tail fan. Set it aside for 6 hours. It will take 8 weeks for it to completely dry; it will bleed a little moisture into the cardboard at first due to the salting, but that is normal. The fan will remain open and extended after it has dried. Remove the excess salt and salt clumps by gently pulling and shaking them off. If any dried tissue bumps up, carefully cut away some of it so that the fan lays flatter in the mount. I start by gluing the beard into the slot and holding it in place with small pieces of cardboard until it dries. I drilled the two screw holes in the back board a little larger so the screws could just slip through. When you're sandwiching your tail fan between the two boards, it's easier to screw into the front board this way. Snug the screws just enough to keep the fan in place while you level it, then tighten them all the way to keep the fan in place. Overtightening the screws will cause them to snap. The screws that come with the kit are usually not used by me. They are in good shape. However, I replace them with the same size construction screws. so that they don't snap You can avoid snapping the screws by tightening them gently. I hope this information is useful to you. Best wishes for your search! This is an excellent set of tools. It's a nice piece of wood, and it's of good quality.
The screw is a self-adhesive self-adhesive self-adhesive self-adhe 1 inch of tapping on wood screw 1/4 ". Any hardware store will sell them to you. Here's how I put it together: The beard must be completely dry, as well as the fan base. I use quick dry epoxy to adhere the beard end to the slot. 5 mins). The holes in the larger back piece are drilled out so that the screws can easily pass through. Once the fan is installed between the boards, it will be much easier to put together. The screw will not tighten properly if it catches thread on the back piece. It will go in easier if you apply a little hard soap to the screw threads. Just snug them up; don't overtighten or the screw will break. I hope this has been of assistance. This is an excellent kit.

It's simple to assemble and appears to be very professional. I looked at a lot of different brands and designs and decided not to buy one until I found a good one. If you're on the fence about this product (deluxe walnut kit), know that I'm ordering more for my other turkey fans and will keep buying from this company. The only flaw I discovered was with the wall mounting system; the small saw-style bracket that attaches to the back of the mount is a letdown. A better wall attachment would be appropriate for such a high-quality product. I plan to replace the bracket by making a vertical keyhole slot in the back with my router and securely mounting it to the wall with a wide flat headed nail. Just keep in mind that the cheap man pays twice: once for the lesson (a low-quality product) and again for its replacement (a high-quality product). If you don't want to take the class, this is the one to get.
This mount is fantastic. It was my first time mounting a turkey tail at home, and the results were even better than I had hoped. The mount is extremely simple to put together and of exceptional quality. You never know what you'll get, but quality is guaranteed when it's made in America, and that's exactly what you'll get here.
The wood is of excellent quality and the color is vibrant. It was simple to put together, but there wasn't much room to fit the plume in. It appears to be professional, and it took less than 30 minutes for me to complete.
In the last few years, I've purchased three walnut hollow mounting boards. I've been so pleased with the craftsmanship and overall design of this product that I've recommended it to other turkey hunters. This one, on the other hand, had noticeable indentations in four different places, as shown in the attached photos. Because this is my daughter's first turkey, I'm a little disappointed. Despite the flaws, the piece is still attractive overall, and I plan to purchase more.
However, this is true. Spiffy. Effortless and beneficial created a mount It's a lovely piece of wood. Put the preserved fan in, tighten the two screws, and glue on the beard, and you're done. It's the best trophy you'll ever get. But really, if it's not deserving of a cool mount like this and you're going to buy one of those cheap-o mounts, you're wasting your money. azz faux- wood- grain- Why bother with a plastic job? br>br>Walnut Hollow, thank you very much! This is a fantastic device!.
dependable and well-made made, and dressed up enough to wear in the den It was simple to assemble, and it had enough room for a 9 1/2-inch beard. It's best to use a hot glue gun to secure the beard in the slot.
The products from Walnut Hollow Country are of high quality.
Great kit, very easy to put together, and I highly recommend it.
