A mount for a ram skull is what we're looking for. Because the horns roll back against the wall, we'll need a mount that can accommodate them. Is this a viable solution?

It could be used on a post or column, and we've seen people use a finished block on the wall to extend it out, then use the TKMOUNTS Skull Clamp on top of that.

What is the maximum load capacity of the mount?

This is best for skulls that are in the middle of their growth cycle. species of various sizes - Deer, bear, and antelope are just a few of the animals that can be found in the area. It's been successful in identifying whitetail deer skulls and large mule deer.

Will this work on a fully grown elk's skull? Is there a restriction on the amount of weight that can be carried?

It's possible that the elk skull is too heavy.

How do you put the bear jaw together? It's not connected to the skull in any way. ?

We'll use two thick gauge wire segments to make this. 4" long (one on each side of the skull, right and left). The wire is inserted into the jaw and skull's natural openings, which are where nerves and blood vessels run. One end is lodged in the jaw, while the other is lodged in the top of the head. Rep on the other side, which has been epoxyed in place. Once glued in, the wire allows you to open your jaw to the desired look and keeps it there.

The best euro mount I've ever used, it's very secure and well built, and it's by far the best euro mount I've ever used

Much more secure than the Skull Hooker, Mtn Mikes, or any other mount where the skull goes over a post or spike; the next best, in my opinion, are the Dead On display mounts, but they can still swing or twist when hit or bumped, whereas the TKMounts is rock solid. br>br>It will take time to see if the "friction" system keeps the mount from slipping, but it feels solid right now with the nuts snugged but not tight. The provided screws only bit into the stud maybe 1/4" at most to go through the mount and a standard Sheetrock wall, and the screw is a "self tapper" style, so the 1/4" in the stud are not full threads still in the "tapping" part of the screw. If they were a quarter-inch thicker, it would be a different story. They would have been perfect if they were 3/8" longer, but I didn't trust them, so I used some longer screws I had on hand and painted the heads black. br>br>Still the best option for deer-sized skulls; hopefully an Elk version will be released soon!.
