Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it in seawater?

The previous model had proven to be saltwater resistant. The new 2018 design, on the other hand, does away with metal teeth in favor of plastic parts for the Spyderlok rod holders. I wouldn't put any saltwater fish in the plastic version.

What is the length of the top crossbar?

My boat is currently covered for the winter, so I haven't taken any measurements. The cross bar, however, is estimated to be around 30 inches wide. There's enough room for four rods, and they're close enough together that I can spider rig in a hurry. On the boat, I have two of these rod holders, each with additional mounting plates. I have the ability to spider rig on both sides of the bow. I can set them up on the stearn for long-line Crappie trolling and drifting for Catfish. These holders are a little on the pricey side, but they're stout, well-made, and well worth it!

Is this rod holder included in the base?

Yes, the rod holder is included in the base.

What are the dimensions of the thumb screws?

I believe the screws are 1/4" in diameter.

ADD TO CART IN A FEW MINUTES! PERIOD! The best rigging setup! These items are incredible
5/5

I had originally planned to install a driftmaster setup, but I came across these first. I'm glad I chose Millenium Marine instead of another company. Adjustments can be made without the use of any tools. With thumb screws, each holder can be adjusted to the left and right (360 degrees) as well as up and down. Unlike other brands, the entire rig can be rotated 360 degrees and has four height settings. The holder is attached to the base plate with thumb screws that are retained in the post's plate, ensuring that no parts are lost and no tools are required to remove it. That is convenient for me because I keep my boat covered. The only permanently mounted part of the boat is the base plate, which is completely flat. As a result, if the holder is removed, there are no trip hazards. And believe me when I say that these are not cheaply made items. Other reviews claim that it can withstand large cats, which I believe. Crappie fishing 100% of the time is what I do and they work perfectly for me. My glass Ranger is ready for rigging. I also bought two extra base plates to mount in the back of the boat, one on each side, with holders that can be moved easily from plate to plate. You have a seemingly limitless number of options at your disposal. The post also serves as an excellent mounting point for RAM Mount accessories, and the ROBOCUP fits perfectly; the only drawback is that movement on one rod can be transmitted to the others. But, regardless of the brand, it will happen if there aren't a large number of individual holders. My only gripe is that I don't have a larger boat in which to fit more of them. If you're undecided about whether or not to purchase these, go ahead and do so. You will not be sorry. On a side note, I buy a lot of things on Amazon but rarely write reviews. I had to take time out of my day to write this because I am so pleased with these holders. And no, I didn't get a discount for writing this review. They were bought at regular price, and if I had to, I would buy ten more.

The design has been altered
4/5

My Millennium Spyder LOK rod holder arrived today, so that's the first thing I'll mention. When I first opened the box, however, I was taken aback. They've switched over to a new design. It isn't as it appears in the photograph. Instead of aluminum "teeth," the rod holders are now "locked" onto the bar by plastic "teeth. " Also unique is the height-adjustment pole. I haven't used it yet, so I'm not implying that the new one is inferior; rather, I'm informing everyone that they've changed.

A truly outstanding fishing rod holder - Flexible, solid, and safe
5/5

I've had the Spyerlok for a couple of seasons now. I have four of them and recently upgraded the system with their track system and single pod rod holders (both of which were purchased directly from Millennium Marine). The end result is outstanding. On the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, I've used them before. These rod holders handled flathead catfish weighing more than 30 pounds with ease. They're tough, flexible in all three axes of rotation, and they keep my rods in place when I'm trolling. br>br>A few reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that some of the parts had been switched from aluminum to plastic. The plastic used is a composite plastic with carbon fibers, as far as I can tell. These composite plastics are used in a variety of automotive applications, such as engine cam shafts, and by airline manufacturers for structural purposes. They outperform the aluminum they replaced in terms of strength. They're as good as new after two seasons and nearly 100 outings - There is no damage or wear. In any case, Millennium Marine offers a three-year warranty on the product.

Excellent Rod Holder - It's a solid piece of equipment
5/5

This device is fantastic; it's simple to adjust the rods and height, and it comes apart quickly. I can't say enough good things about this product; it has set the bar extremely high for its competitors. I went to a Crappie Fishing destination at Realfoot Lake in Tennessee after purchasing this and noticed that all of their guide boats had these on them. I stopped and asked one of the guides what he thought of it, and he said it was the best on the market. It also confirmed my own beliefs. I'll have to save some more money to get another one for the back of the boat; for now, I'm just moving it around with different base plates.

Excellent value for money! First and foremost, please understand that this is an uninvited review
5/5

After deciding to pursue spider rigging as a sport, I began conducting extensive research on the necessary equipment. The Millennium Spyder LOK rod holders were my very first purchase. I looked at a lot of different brands before deciding on this one, and it turned out to be a good choice. The standard is very high. I was surprised to find that the aluminum extrusions and bar stock are thicker than I had anticipated. The rod holders themselves are substantial and well constructed. T bolts can be used to adjust the height of the unit, the cross bar, and the angle and direction of the rod holder. I've been manufacturing metal products for over 40 years and would be proud to produce something of this caliber. Other brands may be of comparable quality, but none will be able to match the quality of these rod holders. You can confidently click the Add To Cart button because I was the test subject.

This is a very high-quality rig that is well worth the money; I've had a few trolling rigs before, but none of them compare to this one
5/5

The adjustability allows you to set your rods in any position needed, and the durability is an understatement. I'm very happy with this rack, and I can assure you that it's well worth the money; if you're on the fence about whether or not to buy it, BUY IT! Even the cradles that hold the rod handles are of the highest quality, with great attention to detail. I'm giving the Millennium system five stars, and I applaud the company for producing such a high-quality product.

The very best on the market
5/5

This is the second type of rod holder I've owned after trying four different styles on friends' boats. These are far superior to any of the other rod holders I've tried. They are extremely simple to adjust and do not require the use of any tools. They have made my life so much easier. I was worried that they would obstruct my view while driving the boat, but the simple height adjustment allows me to quickly lower them all the way down, putting them out of sight. I also put them in the lowest position when trailering the boat because it keeps them from shaking as much, which keeps the base mounted more securely over time. I don't believe there is a better rod holder for the money. I primarily use them for crappie fishing, but I'm sure they'd be fine for catfishing as well.
