This seems to be the case. My 2009 Honda Fit is a subcompact car, and I have installed mine there. The part “works” a bit but it was primarily intended for cars that were longer than mine. A few of the rod tips stick out just a bit into the upper part of the windshield, and the handle ends tend to sag in the rear cargo area, especially if your rod is 6'6". A fish rod holder like this has always been a favorite of mine. It was a bit difficult to remember not to use the There are Velcro straps that hold up the storage rack however, if you pull them, they will come apart. If the straps that hold the rack up had a bit more material to hold onto, it would be great. The challenge I faced was that when I pulled the straps, they overlapped each other, but that left some of the strap hanging loose with nothing to connect it For the price, I still had to give this rod holder 5 stars and I would recommend it to anyone.
I found what I was looking for pretty much right here. You need to look at which end you want the Velcro on. To put the car frame in, I had to take the trim in the back out so it would fit in the back of the car. Because of the omission of one Velcro strap I had to use my own strap so that I could use all the loops. As long as the price is right, I can live with minor issues. Although other options might be more useful, I don't expect they would be any.
