I suppose you could use it in saltwater on smaller diameter lines, but I'd recommend the boomerang tool company's line cutters, which are excellent for mono and braid.

To begin with, these aren't very good at cutting. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to cut an 8-inch piece of paper. Count to ten in mono. Second, the wire loop is extremely inconvenient and frequently necessitates the use of wire cutters to remove. It's not even close to being worth the money.
The hook eye punch is very effective. Because the clippers aren't up to par, I can't use this tool. As is so often the case when I think I've found a good deal, I'll be getting something better.
These have a good grip, are extremely sharp, and the connector is one of my favorites. There's no need to shell out $50. This is everything you'll require.
They're small, sharp, and the hook eye cleaner is thin enough to work with even the tiniest flies. This is a fantastic purchase.
The wire connector is convenient for attaching to the loop on my fishing shirt.
I started with a set of off-brand, low-cost nippers, but I quickly abandoned them after trying the Loon nippers. It is well-made. It's simple to use and only requires a small amount of pressure to cut.
Does exactly what it's supposed to. Those are some good nippers you've got there. I have yet to put it through the braid test.
