I had a kit with a basic set of all the tools I needed when I first started out. I didn't know what it was, but it had a hair stacker in it. The stimulators I used initially suffered from small problems. Once I learned more about hair stackers and how to use them, I discovered that the hair stackers I was using were inadequate. It was a great deal, so I bought it. It's amazing how much difference there is. As a fly fisherman, I am a strong believer that more expensive gear doesn't necessarily mean more fish! Although quality fly tying tools will make the task easier, I believe quality is a must. There is no doubt that this is a quality tool for fly tying. I enjoy using it and it works well. Oh, and the sticker that came with mine was pretty cool!.
Slick gear I use the most for fly tying. Dr. Slick's fly tying tools have always been of excellent quality to me, and I would not hesitate to recommend this tool. I appreciate the fine machining and finish of this product and get a perfect hair pack every time. The medium size is just right to tie mice/rats. There is enough space in the medium to fit a clump of hair about the size of a pencil. It would be wise to get the large packers if you're tying giant saltwater flies. There is a small for tiny flies, of course. It is a high quality hair packer that you should consider if you're looking for one.
Since I have been using deer hair heads and collars in tying a lot of flies, I have grown to like the stacker a lot. There was one thing I wish the description had mentioned -- how to determine what sizes to use. Initially, I thought the barrel part of the medium stacker was 2" but it turned out to be the entirety of it. My brain is just a bit too small for this, but I'm going to work on There is nothing wrong with the delivery and the item itself, it has nothing to do with the great delivery and the great item. It is heavy and nice to work with brass for stackers such as these.
Hair stackers like this one have left me very impressed. I highly recommend it for those who appreciate the fine workmanship, solid feel and As an added bonus, it stacks deer hair beautifully. This is one of many Dr. Slick products that I enjoy and this one did not disappoint.
The size of the stacker is perfect for my hands, and I like the way it's formed.
I have tried to use a previous wood model, but it was very hard to get all the hairs to the bottom of the stack because the walls were rough. This one is well polished and gets all the hair to the bottom.
I am pleased with the fabric and finish of this item. This is the first time I have ever used a hair stacker. While it works nicely, I do not have anything to compare it to, from a performance perspective As far as containers go, there are none other than 35 mm film canisters. There is much greater ease and effectiveness to this real hair stacker compared to the film container you used in the past!.
A week or so ago, when I was borrowing a nice, expensive hair stacker, I got a package from my "budget" Dr. Slick. This device proved to be superior to others in its category after I used it for the first time. This is made possible by the hair stacking up evenly and sliding out smoothly. The name is also one of the best in fly tying. You're the best! It's a win for you guys if it's a.
