Questions & Answers
Because winged wet flies come in a variety of sizes, it's difficult to give an exact answer, but in general, I'd say they'd fit.
The bi-fold is admittedly a snug fit. The manufacturer claims that its directional slit design allows for 180 flies per side, two per hole.
Gray with a clear cover on the bottom. This is a fantastic fly box.
The Tacky 2X Day Pack measures 5" x 3" and comes in a variety of colors. 125" wide by 125" tall by 125" wide by 125" tall by 75”.
Selected User Reviews For Tacky Day Pack Fly Fishing Fly Box
I have one of the original Tacky Day Packs, which is a fantastic little pocket box. Carrying two of these small boxes (one for dries and one for nymphs) is easier than carrying one large box. This box, on the other hand, appears to be a little off. To begin with, the cover has a smokey appearance, as opposed to the clear appearance of all other Tacky Day boxes, and the material inside does not appear to be the same, as it is a bit harder of a rubber. It does a good job of holding the flies, but it lacks the grip of my other Day Pack. In addition, not all of the slits are completely cut. All of my flies fit perfectly after I fixed it with a razor blade. I suppose I'll rely on the smoke effect to help me identify my boxes. Still, it appears to be a rip-off of Fishpond USA's Tacky boxes.
I no longer wear a vest, and I despise chest packs, so when I'm out walking, I keep my fly boxes in my pockets. These help to keep the weight down while still allowing for a large selection of well-organized flies. For me, the capacity is half of what the advertisement claims. I don't fish many flies smaller than a sixteen, and with two flies per slot in the boxes, anything larger would be too crowded. The silicone appears to be in good condition.
This new muddy, dirty-looking green/blue silicone color does not appeal to me, and I will most likely return it because of it. br>br>I have five of the original blue-colored tacky foam boxes, which provide a nice contrast, though the aesthetic of the color choice is very off-putting. br>br>Actually, it was the act of writing this that convinced me. Because of the color, I'll be returning.
It's a nice little box, but it's a bit pricey. I really like it, but I think it could be a little less expensive, so I'm taking a star off for value. I've tried a few others, but this one is by far my favorite, so I'd still suggest getting one. It's even better if you can find it on sale.
I carry four fly boxes, most of which are divided into mayflies, caddies, midges, and terrestrials, and the size is ideal for me. It's ideal if you only have one compartment and a silicone pad.
The one that was delivered had grey lids, which made it impossible to see inside.
br>Good product/does what it says/fair price. br>Liked that it was compact. br>Disliked that it was a little heavier than expected. br>It was used to store fly fishing flies.
This box is ideal for small dry flies and nymphs. This is an excellent choice for a short fishing trip. It is small enough to be carried in one's pocket. Extremely long lasting. Hopefully, it will last an eternity. The silicone insert system is one of my favorites.
