Yes, that is correct. The live bait cooler is now available in a new version. The aerator tube enters through the lid rather than the side, as can be seen.

My husband was pleased with how well this cooler performed. He's pleased because it has allowed him to keep his Minnows alive for longer than before. He would have given it a five-star rating if the lid didn't have a stop cable to keep the hinges from bending. He's concerned about how long they'll be able to withstand the stress of the lid going too far because they're made of plastic.
I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews. It appears to be well constructed and to have kept the minnows alive, but the water leaks out the back corner. I could have easily made my own by mounting a battery-operated pump to the outside of a regular cooler, but I decided to spend the money because the Engle is supposed to have a rubber gasket that prevents water from leaking. NOT SO. In any case, it leaks everywhere in the car. Furthermore, the pump's two metal screws immediately rusted! When it's obvious that a bait cooler is meant to be taken fishing, why not use high-quality stainless steel screws? On the pier, by the beach, at the lake, on a boat, and so on. Either I got a dud or I don't understand why this item received such high marks. Returning to the store and purchasing a new one.
This is a fantastic baitbox. I like that I can close the lid and throw it over my shoulder with the included strap without having to worry about it falling off. Allows you to carry additional items with both hands free. 4- will be kept 5 dz minnows can easily be kept alive for a couple of days. It's just a matter of changing the water. The mesh net/basket that comes with the package is extremely useful. Simply raise it a few inches to check on your bait or grab a minnow. The only thing I had to do was upgrade the aerator to a double airtube type, which was simple enough; I simply needed to buy a new aerator. I've used it a few times now and would strongly recommend it to anyone who fishes for minnows.
I've got a 110-volt plug-in system. I simply use it overnight and use AA batteries to power a Mr. Bubbles. The cooler itself is fine, but I wish it had been a little bigger because I use it for spider rigging and go through a lot of it. Even on the hottest summer days, they tend to last at least a couple of days.
One drawback is that it requires a lot more water than a regular bait fish bucket, but it keeps them alive for days, and the latches make it easier not to splash water around during transport and prevent aunts from getting into your bait, so it's a win-win situation.
This bait box is fantastic. It's a little pricey, but I fish for Specks (crappie) from a 15' Jon Boat, and it's so nice not to have water splashing all over me like it does in my 5 gallon bucket on windy days. On a particularly windy day, it even tipped over without spilling. The net basket came at the perfect time. There's no need to worry about a net, and catching the last few minnows is simple. On my saltwater rig, I'm thinking about getting the 30 to keep shrimp separate from the pinfish and sardines. I read a few online reviews about how loud the pump is, but I didn't have any issues with mine. On the same two Dcell batteries, I ran it at high speed for a total of 32 hours. I plugged it into my truck to keep the bait alive over night, and I didn't lose a single one, and I had about 3/4 pound of minnows in the cooler at the time. That is a significant number of minnows. This is a cooler that I wholeheartedly recommend. Unless you want to go bigger, this is the last one you'll buy.
It is the perfect size for my needs. Bringing the cooler to the store and placing the bait directly in the cooler is convenient when purchasing bait. I was able to keep my bait alive for three days (after changing the water). It's a great idea to include a net. There's no need to go fishing for a bait fish, and it's simple to change the water in the cooler; simply pull up the net and place it in a bucket of water while emptying and refilling the cooler. Love it! Additionally, it provides a comfortable seat.
Great cooler, but the pump, as others have noted, is quite loud. At the bow of my 16, I can clearly hear it. It's running on the transom of a 5 foot boat. In less than a single fishing season, the pump had died. br>br>I recently replaced the pump with the following: Through Amazon, you can purchase the KEDSUM Aquarium Air Pump, which is both rechargeable and portable. It is powered by a 12 volt lithium-ion rechargeable battery. It performs admirably and is almost imperceptibly quiet.
