Questions & Answers

What is the size difference between the xl and the xxl?

The XL/XXL size is for people who have a chest measurement of 50"-58". 56".

What is the difference between the xxl and xl/xxl sizes?

Lg/XL chest sizes range from 42 to 52 inches, while XL/XXL chest sizes range from 50 to 56 inches. The only difference is in the lengths of the straps. The flotation component is identical.

I'm not sure what size to order. My height is 6'2" and my weight is 250 pounds. ?

I am 6' 2" and 265 pounds, so I ordered the L/XL. It's very adaptable and will fit over my winter rain gear with ease. I usually wear XXL in everything from shirts to jackets, so I was pleasantly surprised by how well this fit.

Isn't it true that there are only three sizes available? What are the differences between the sizes xs/m, l/xl, and xxl/xxl? Why are there four sizes listed in this section?

Because the xs/m and s/m are the same, it appears to be an error. Thanks

Comfortable, functional, and of high quality
5/5

I'm 5'11" and weigh 195 pounds, so I went with the Large/Extra Large size. With a t-shirt on, it fits snugly, but there's enough room for a hooded sweatshirt or jacket. I sat in my kayak and noticed that the PFD's high back did not hit the seat, which was convenient, and the pockets were easy to reach. I was able to make use of the plier holder pocket, which was extremely useful! I felt extremely mobile casting and netting fish because of my low profile in the front. I wore it for 5 hours and it was extremely comfortable.

Kayak fishing with a good life vest
4/5

NRS Chinook Fishing PFD (Red, XS/M) was the product I ordered. I'm 5'5" and weigh 145 pounds, so the size is perfect for me. I have complete freedom to move my hands forward and backward. I was able to turn my upper body to the sides without feeling constrained or restricted. I believe I will be able to row and fish without difficulty. br>br>I also put it through its paces to see how safe it would be if I fell out of my kayak and into the water. In a swimming pool, I conducted my tests. I performed the test in three different positions where I could fall out of the kayak and into the water, i. e. , as well as sitting, kneeling, and standing. The following were some of the possible falls I took: 1) I fell on my side; 2) I fell backwards into the water with the back of my head in the water; and 3) collapsing into the water face down. br>br>1) tripping over - My upper body slowly turned upside down with my face facing the sky after falling into the water and not moving. If I happen to fall on my side and lose consciousness, this will allow me to regain consciousness and breath. 2) falling backwards into the water with the back of one's head - My body was in a straight position after the fall. My lower body, from my waist to my feet, began to float upward, and my body assumed a semi-floating position. My face was facing the sky, and I was in a supine position. If I happen to fall on my side and lose consciousness, this will allow me to regain consciousness and breath. br>3) falling forward into the water, face down - My body was in a straight position after the fall. My lower body, from the waist to my feet, began to float upward, and I found myself in an upside-down position, face down in the water. Because my face is in the water, I'm likely to drown if I fall down into this position and lose consciousness. My entire body swung backwards. Only if I raise my head do I have my face facing the sky. My upper body turned to the side and up towards the sky as I raised my head, allowing me to breathe. Hopefully, in the event that someone falls face down into the water and loses consciousness, something better can be done in the PFD. br>br>Overall, the PFD performed admirably (as long as you don't pass out during the fall:.

Awesome
5/5

I'm 6'2" and 290 pounds. On both sides, I have an extra 8 inches of strap (16 inches to spare). ) This should be fine for the 3xl guys; I've been fishing in 90-degree weather and haven't felt the need to remove it.

The wait was well worth it
5/5

After attempting to purchase this PFD from three different vendors (1 local and two on Amazon), OutdoorPlay was the last one to deliver! Supplies ran out, as they did with everything Kayak during the pandemic, and everyone was out of the more common sizes. OutdoorPlay kept their word and delivered exactly when they said they would. br>br>Now I understand why this model was in such short supply! In the Large/XL size, the Chinook is extremely adjustable and compact for a PFD. Because I wanted to be seen on the water, I chose a red color. I'm excited to give it a go! I've been using a cheap Academy PFD with no pockets for the entire summer, and I'm looking forward to using a PFD that was designed specifically for kayak fishing!.

The size of the NRS Chinook has shifted
3/5

I'm a big fan of NRS, especially their Chinook PFD. When I was looking for a replacement for my current L/XL, I decided to buy another L/XL. Who knew they changed their chest measurements at some point, and the L/XL is now too big? I went from a 38" waist to a 38" waist. - From 46" to 42" - 52”. I had no reason to suspect this because there was no size chart in the product description. Returned.

It looks fantastic on you
5/5

I was worried that it wouldn't fit me properly. My chest measurement is 40 inches, and I thought I was close to the next size up's cutoff. I ended up going with the recommended size chart and ordering the XS to M size, which required quite a bit of adjusting and cinching. If I need to wear a jacket underneath or something, there's plenty of room. The "XS" part confuses me because I'm usually not close to that size when it comes to clothing. br>br>Aside from that, great product, lots of pockets and features, and I'm looking forward to using it on my kayak for fishing (while staying within the confines of my local laws).

The chair is well-designed, adjustable, comfortable, and functional
5/5

I'm going to keep this brief and to the point. After seeing this PFD in my feed and recognizing it as the one Chad Hoover wears in his Youtube videos, I decided to purchase it. Is it possible that this is the best anglers PFD on the market? Maybe, maybe not, but anything that competes with it has the same advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: br>br>
- Tool storage that is excellent br>accessories- Adjustable in a variety of ways It will fit if you purchase the size that is closest to your measurements. I'm a big guy, and the XL has plenty of room for me.
- The high back is quite comfortable, and it doesn't interfere with the kayak seats. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- The only real drawback is the price. What you pay for is exactly what you get. You might be happier with something like a Bass Pro Shops XPS Deluxe for a little under half the price or one of many similar options if you aren't concerned about fit, are a more casual boater, or are one of those people who don't regularly wear one, which I do not advise.

Good PFD
5/5

With the seller, there are no issues. This is a great life vest. My height is 6'4' and my weight is 280 pounds. I went for the largest size that was available. There was plenty of room for everything. Purchased to carry small fly boxes and other fly-fishing gear in pockets. Anything thicker than 1/2" creates a lot of bulk. Purchase it as a PFD rather than a tackle bag. I only returned it because it didn't work for the purpose I had in mind.
