I have tried any number of these things and they have never As a result, I now have a pretty severe case of arthritis, and I can no longer move my hands. We were intrigued by their four plus rating, so we decided to give them a try. This afternoon I used them to catch a 5 pound catfish and they worked like a charm. It is much easier and quicker to skin catfish with this device because it is much better made and easily grips fish skin. Like a real pendant, they do not rust when used frequently like imitations do. These are the skinners you need if you're fishing for catfish! Other than that, do not waste your time or money. The quality won't be the same or they will stop manufacturing them! I'm getting another pair before they stop making them!.

The purpose of those shears is to skin fish, but I used them for squirrel skinning. My age was making it difficult to grasp the squirrel's skin to remove the "pants. " As I do the pants/shirt method, I was finding it harder to grasp the squirrel's skin as the muscles in my hands and fingers weakened a little. They are helpful in getting a grip on the hide, and they can also be used to break the leg bones to help remove the feet easier. I am impressed with how well they are made and with how tight their jaws are.

Skinning tool that does a good job

This was purchased as a tool to peel the membrane off of baby back ribs and skin squirrels. As well as catfish and frogs, they will be handy for the occasional lizard or reptile. As far as game or fish are concerned, they can be used for pretty much any. It appears they are well made and have a good level of durability. A reviewer noted that the metal is attracted to a magnet despite the fact that they say they are stainless steel. As time progresses, I will have more information about how well they will hold up to heavy use, but at the moment I believe they are the best on the market.

As part of the smoking process, I'm using it to remove the membrane from racks of ribs. When you lay the sleeve over the membrane, the wide grip offers good grip without tearing it. There is no substitute for tools dedicated to a single task, but I am hesitant to purchase tools specialized for that task.
