Questions & Answers

When used with a weighted reel, does it work and can it be dropped Does a downrigger need to be used?

In this case, a weighted reel is the optimal choice. A downrigger is too large. The fish I have caught here in south Florida so far have mostly been mutton snapper and grouper with a 16 ounce bank sinker. Venting a fish is far better than using this device. Every time I mention this device, everyone seems to want it.

Could you tell me whether this clip will hold braided lines? Thanks. ?

Lines with small diameters do not fit well in the clip. This rod has a swivel snap and a dedicated rod.

How would this work in an 80-foot boat What can you tell me about a Black Seabass weighing 100 lbs?

It's hard for me to know for certain since I have never fished for a Black Seabass but I suspect the jaws may not be large enough to get around the lips of something that size. My application has most often been for tiny to perhaps as much as 15lb fish. It may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer directly Information at theseaqualizer.com. Please visit www.com.

Definitely one of the best descenders
5/5

I tried three descenders, and this one was the best by far. I marked the line with 100' and 150' depths on the reel with different colored Sea Qualizer is set to open at 100' if I am fishing mostly at 200' or more. The fishing line should be set at 150' when fishing 300' Detect when the fish and the device reach the depth from the marker on the line. (I use a 2# weight most of the time. A little extra heft is needed for 1) No sudden stops or jerking necessary to free fish from descenders, the device simply opens itself. Nothing to worry about. Nothing to float about. It is so easy to put 2 fish on Sea Qualizer it is a great product! I like the way they stay on. F & A The owner of the Sea Qualizer boarded us while we were rock fishing and complimented our technique.

It wasn't until I found this device that I had any real way of getting
5/5

Fishing Lake Tahoe for Macks, I find that they are often over 150 feet down when I catch them. There was no way for me to get my bloated, waterlogged fish back under the water until I found this device. I am now able to lower any juvenile fish and any large spawners back to the depths safely with this tool. Additionally, by knowing that I can safely catch and release the fish, I am able to fish beyond my limit. Love the device. It is a true life saver.

You can set the depth here
3/5

When you set the depth, a series of red, green, and yellow dots appears. On the other hand, the device I received does not have color dots. By looking at the drawing on the color and setting it in the specified location, I was able to guesstimate the depth. A second one would not be an option for me.

A device you can use to fish at the bottom of the ocean
5/5

By pinching the fish lip with the device, we release it when it is dropped on the downrigger. This is easy to do AND it works because it is so quick, the fish returns to its natural environment quickly. There was no more popping up of fish!.

The release of the fish saves its life
5/5

So that fish in the deep can survive, grow, and fight another day, this product releases fish. It used to be that I could not keep the released fish because they were undersized and floated away and died from decompression. Having a chance now is at least a good start. People who wish to protect a fish's life until it grows up to be a keeper will find the purchase well worth the money.

In a good state of mind
5/5

It's obvious now that I have no excuse for not trying to save the smaller fish. Though the pelicans aren't too happy, I'm sure they will find enough food in the end.

The easiest way to release rockfish is to release it quickly and easily
5/5

It's highly recommended to have one of these in order to release fish that have swim bladders. My experience with this program was much better than my previous ones. The lobster clip was removed and attached to a small bar of halibut spreader. A 3# weight is placed under the gunner's gunnel at the opposite end of the spreader. A short stiff rod with a large hook is ready to be attached to the fish and lowered. It seems surprisingly durable despite the fact that I have only used it a few times. Previously, we have searched for a quick and easy way to release protected rockfish. This is it. It would certainly boost survival rates and help us to maintain our deep sea fisheries if every boat had one.
