Since March, I have been using these pliers. In order to find out if the rods hold up to saltwater fishing, I wanted to wait a few months before writing a review. The answer is yes. The pliers are in great shape as I write this in August. I see no indicators of rust at all. No evidence of warping has been found on the tip. There is no decay in the teeth and they are not disintegrating while you use them. Despite its age, the cutter section is still clean and sharp, and it cuts braid line just as it did from the beginning. With an elastic coil lanyard and a clip, the pliers can be attached to the belt pouch to avoid accidental "Pliers overboard!" incidents! It is often used to describe "situations". Thus, we are almost at The star rating is 1. I dislike only the holster. It's well built and it's sturdy enough to last. The clip, however, is not robust enough to last. Despite the benefits, there are also two drawbacks. To begin with, the holster does not lock the pliers into place. There is no lock in place, and they are snuggly in there. Rather than having a fixed mount, the belt clip swivels. In an attempt to keep the pliers in place, I have found that they have smashed into my knee cap when the holder spun around while I was in the shower. I would not give it a minus one star for that and it is the only negative. Adding a tighter fitting mold to the holster and a tighter swivel base to the belt holster is all that this product needs to be upgraded.
The pliers are well designed, very light and spring loaded, slightly larger than what I normally use, the cutters work great as The lanyard on this is perfect for use with my kayak, and with the pliers attached to it, they're a perfect complement. I would have preferred a belt loop, I personally do not like the plastic, and the attached lanyard has a nice snap clip although it is another plastic part. Overall I was concerned with the price however, I think the features make it a good purchase. This is an absolute must-have for my tackle box. It will replace several other tools.
My main concern was getting sand into the pivot area, so I was very careful, but it looks like it can be disassembled and cleaned if needed. I was impressed with how durable it was and how comfortable it was to wear It is clear from the images that these tools appear very sturdy and versatile for cutting, crimping, I like them a lot and they complement my fishing gear well.
Is it possible that I have gone so long without them? I have found the line cutter to be excellent and worked equally well on leaders, fly line, and braid. (razor sharp) and they were very helpful in pushing out a really deep hook from an angry tiger muskie. There is also a detent on the belt clip. The earphones have an adjustable rotation, which I don't think is mentioned in the description, so you can listen at any angle that you want. They also stay in the case securely.
Having these cutters is extremely useful for cutting fishing line. The cutters on my pair have a small gap which makes them not be able to cut 15lb braid, but they are a good product otherwise. You've got a great set there. They don't quite cut it for me.
To use these tools, I used to have pliers, clippers, and an attachment for getting the hook out of the gutter. The existing ones are all replaced by this. There are two ways to carry this belt clip, you can use the caribeaner and clip it to your belt loop, or you can wear it on your belt. There is also a ledge at the end of the pliers so you can leverage a hooked hook against something. That makes it much easier for me to remove them. Having this in your tackle box is a must!.
There is a great grip to the plier handle, and I am able to keep it in my pocket when not in use with the lanyard and the sheath. It was possible for me to remove the hook from the mouths of several bass and catfish without bending the plier. (I did that repeatedly with other pliers before). These pliers are great for working on braided lines up to 60lb. I was also able to cut monofilament line at 8 lb like it was nothing! The price of these pliers is amazing for the durability and strength that you will get!.
Size is just right, the quality is amazing, and it's incredibly comfortable. It was very surprising how nice they feel and the sheath makes them really stand out. A great bait to use for fishing when the fish sets the hook a bit late or if the fish doesn't know how to bite a For anglers of all skill levels and ages, these pliers are an excellent choice.
