After kayak fishing in salt water for two trips, I have begun to notice rust spots on one of the scissors I reviewed. I love the scissors and they have proved to be the best tool for cutting braid line. I am very meticulous with my gear and always rinse it down with fresh water after use and lubricate it. Time will tell if these last, but I hope they do.

For quick use, the lanyard on the sheath is great for keeping them close to your body. In addition to losing them quickly, you will lose them if you wear them around your neck because the sheath is not secure enough to hold the scissors in place. It is only when you attach a rubber gasket to the sheath that things stay tight. Fix can be achieved by sliding a black rubber gasket up the sheath into a groove that seems to be laid out for the gasket. In the event that the gasket is tightened, the scissors are securely held in place. It's not going to be easy to get rid of them. It is easy to cut with the scissors since they are very sharp. A pair of stainless steel 3CR13 blades with serrated edges certainly belongs to that category! If the blades are open, you need to be cautious when dealing with them. There was no problem cutting mono or flouro, 65lb braid, squid, and plastic bags. KastKing lines and PowerPro lines were used. Obviously, they have some fervent fans who praise their products wholeheartedly. It's a hype that has me sucked in. It is claimed that these braid cutters are able to cut through braid easily. In my experience, that has not been the case. I have never been able to use it to cut cleanly through braid though it does a good job on mono. often takes two or three attempts in the same spot to cut the line, especially when it comes to braids of a smaller diameter. I am disappointed.

Both sets I bought do not cut the line very well, and both sets the tips do not even close all the way. You can't cut your excess line off a lure because the lure has a lot of line.

Salt does not work as described (as The following update is as of October 13 Due to poor review quality, I have to downgrade my rating. It's been two months and six fishing trips, and the blades are rusty and no longer cut! A very disappointing experience. Getting these because they are salt water friendly and made of high-quality steel, which is what the description said. This is not the case for me. The reason this is happening may be a result of poor quality assurance and a one-off circumstance, but I'm going to have to spend about $20 more. The fact that the product only lasted two months was disappointing, as I only used it for a few fishing trips where they were not even submerged in salt water but used to cut wet braided line. An excellent choice for a small, durable project. It is a nice bonus to have a hook sharpener. My purpose for using this is to save myself the hassle of carrying large, heavy scissors when I go surf fishing. One downside is that it comes with a lanyard that has a clip that only attaches to actual scissors, but if you want a lanyard for the safety case, you must buy another one Unless you do this, you will be in danger of losing your.

As soon as I got my first pair, I thought they were junk. Only the first part of the scissors near the tip of the scissors would be used to cut braid. I sent them in to get repaired in hope that they would be excellent. I received the ones that work for the first half/quarter of the scissors today. There are parts of the scissors closest to the handle where they are not designed to cut braid.

Overall design and thought is good. But I wouldn't take the risk of expecting a great Keeping quality in check is definitely a challenge with Kastking. It's clear that affordable innovation is not the same as open innovation. However, I think their pliers and backpack are really cool off the bat. Using cut-resistant cuda or Rapala scissors will cost you far less and will be more efficient. There is no holster or lanyard attachment on those, which is one of the reasons I was looking for While I have kept them on the pack, it is unclear how often they are going to be used.

They will easily cut through tough braided lines. A better holding power would be ideal for the sheath. The sheath does not hold them even if they're upside down, so I wouldn't trust them upside down. In addition, the sheath might fall off if you hang them from the scissors. The sheath included with them blows away another pair that I have that comes with another brand. With another brand I have many of the same knives, but they are not as sharp but they are problematic for cutting line, which is why I bought these. There is no way the cheap scissors will ever fall out of their sheaths. The ones that are more expensive can be kept in a stable place like my tackle box, while the ones that are cheaper can be carried around.
