If you need a good pair for inshore fishing, then these are the ones you should get. The fishing gear has been working great for me during the spring fishing season here in Texas, and I have included more than one fishing trip per week and three times a week fishing my dock. With saltwater abuse, Booms X1 appear to have done well. They still work as well as the old ones and are sharp enough to cut braid, monofilament, and light mono strand wire (under 40 pounds). I am able to easily cut 65lb braids. I haven't used it in saltwater yet, but it worked well for fishing bass. For the black oxide jaws, I do not have high expectations of corrosion resistance. Specifically, I purchased for hook removal and hair removal. I found that the braid cutters worked exceptionally well on the 65lb braid for the first time I used them. The Braided line cutters are great value and perform flawlessly. You must keep the hooks in the mouths of the fish near the surface and not be too big or too small to retrieve them. Having to return the pliers to the case is likewise cumbersome and frustratingly impossible without involving both hands. A hard plastic snap-in and snap-out belt clip would provide the perfect solution to this design flaw and make it the ultimate combination of quality and value.

After my husband kept borrowing my favorite pliers while offshore fishing, I decided to purchase another pair for myself and give him the current pair. I then searched my purchases to order another pair only to find that I had bought them three years ago. Although they are covered in some minor saltwater corrosion, they still operate and close without sticking and do not need to be replaced, and even the clips are not rusted and broken and the cord is intact and stretching even after 100% heated storage in an outdoor boat in Florida. When you are in a rush, you will find it harder to remove this pouch since it has a strap that goes over it! This is also a long list. A pair of black shoes one inch longer. The handle pulls easily out of the holder since there is no strap holding it in so you can remove it easily.

I think this is a great product. It has the same quality and features as high dollar products. In addition to being used several times, they have even been completely submerged in sea water, with no rust or reduction in performance.
