I wouldn't recommend using them as a lanyard because they are very stretchy and flexible. They're what I use to secure tools and other gear to my kayak and backpack. I purchased the 4-pack. When it arrived in the mail, I opened the package and found four of the four that had been advertised.
The T04 Fishing Lanyard is constructed of 7*7 steel wire with a clear TPU coating. The ends of the attachments are crimped and wrapped in heat-resistant material. It is possible to shrink.

For a 6 foot man, the belt is about 10 inches end to end at its shortest coiled length and 48 inches stretched AKA belt to extended arms length. I kayak, canoe, SUP, and dock fish, so having my tools tethered to me is convenient. I have a larger carbiner clip that I clip to a belt loop, then two of these from that clip to my two most frequently used tools, a multi-purpose fishing pliers and my Clinch Tie knot tying tool. It's the right length to reach from my belt loop to pocket with either hand, so if I forget to put the pliers away while handling a fish, they're still with me. It's also convenient to be able to let my knot tier dangle from the tag end of the line while I clip the excess with my multi pliers line cutter, and the tag end is kept in the knot tier so I can put it in my pocket and trash it later, and it keeps the line straight. I'm guessing they're worth around $1. It's a cheap way to avoid losing a $15 or $20 tool.
These are extremely useful, and the price is reasonable. They are exactly as shown in the image (ring on one end, "lobster" clip on the other). On the one hand, the quality of the spring "lobster" clip appears to be good before much use (I can't say how long these will last because I just got them). This isn't a problem for me because I'll never need 59", but if you plan on using it that long, it's worth thinking about, and possibly purchasing a longer length capability if one is available. br>br>Boom's should consider using "lobster" clips on both ends - as stated in the advertisement: "[Strong Ends] Each end has a lobster clip that can take a beating.
These are what I use to secure pouches, keys, and other small items to the insides of my bags. This allows me to quickly locate items in the "bottomless pit" that my pocketbooks and briefcase bags inevitably become. br>br>I needed something small and thin that would easily curl up and out of the way until I needed it, and these fit the bill perfectly. br>br>They expand and contract nicely, and the plastic used for the coils allows me to see the colors clearly inside my bags. br>br>The only thing that I have trouble with is opening the hooks to remove them (thanks to my bad manicure!). ), but it's not a big deal once you've gotten used to it. br>br>These are likely to be purchased again.

They're useful for securing items to my kayak that I don't want to lose, as long as I remember that they're not holding anything heavy enough to tip my kayak over if they fall into the water. They've held light items like fishing rods, water bottles, my paddle, a small waterproof bag for Zen meditation books, and handguns just fine, so there's no need to worry about losing important gear in the swamp!.
When I ordered them, I didn't know what to expect, but they far exceeded my expectations when they arrived. They are primarily used to store my kayak's gear. The clasps are a little small for most of my larger items, but they're ideal for my Leatherman and other smaller items. It's come in handy a few times when I've misplaced my Leatherman. The quality is excellent, with no slipping or clasp issues that I have observed so far.
When I'm fishing or boating, I use these to control any tools I might want to use. The one end attaches to a loop or ring on a pair of pliers or a Jaw Spreader, while the other attaches to a holster, my belt, or my life jacket. Small tools and light objects, such as emergency whistles, can be safely carried in these. I was taken aback when I realized I had used them all up so quickly- They'll come in handy, and I'll probably add them to my Wish List so the wife can get them. For Father's Day, Birthday, or Christmas, the kids can give me something inexpensive.
I'm using it for metal detecting, and I've attached it to my gear as a lease so that it doesn't get lost in the water. The others will go on my surf fishing pole and peir pole for night fishing when you have to lean against the rail and wait for a bite, and it adds a huge safety factor if you hook a huge tuna and it yaks the pole out of your hand on a huge run into deep water. As the old adage goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
They're not as big as I thought they'd be. despite the fact that the dimensions were clearly stated I guess I didn't pay attention enough. The coils are approximately 5/16 inch in diameter. The cord measures about 3/32 inch in thickness. The clip measures 7/8 inch in length, not including the swivel. When you let go, I'm sure it'll stretch to nearly 59 inches, but it'll snap back like a rubber band with a steel projectile on the end. Take your time to read the description and examine the photos. This is a great option for a small lanyard, and the price is more than reasonable.
