Questions & Answers

The plate that attaches to the wall measures how wide is it? Are there any dimensions between the top screw and the bottom screw on one of the plates? My sincere thanks go out to ?

This plate measures about 7 1/8" high by 7 1/8" wide. The distance between the middle of the top bolt and the middle of the bottom bolt in the plate is about 6 1/4".

What kind of safety wedge does it come with?

There's no word for a safety wedge in my vocabulary

Since the wall plates are so short, I’m afraid they will not hold on the walls of an apartment building built in 1930. How has your experience been with this? It also seems that the screws are short?

A 1x4 was screwed into the studs by me and I placed it across them.

What is the size of the mount where the bolts are mounted? How much is that? Looks like 6 inches. What should I do with this if I plan to bolt it to a metal rod?

Initially, I secured mine with bolts to a piece of 2 by 10 lumber, then A smaller board would not work, and the board is about three feet in length

A mounting system that is unsafe
3/5

The understanding that what you pay for is what you get You should consider it if you intend to buy it Look elsewhere if you're looking for an up bar with safety in mind. Steel wall mounting bolts are used for the six wall mounting brackets. snugging the mounting plate to the wall, one of the bolt heads shifted off when I drove one of the bolts into the wall after predrilling a pilot hole with the 7/32nd bit recommended.

This China-based company did not include a hardened steel bolt for safety despite offering an extra 30 cents. Purchasing this pullover will require you to Make sure you pick up 6 replacement lag bolts for your up bar from your local hardware store. You'll be saving yourself from potential injury this way.

It has a maximum weight of 250 lbs
3/5

It is generally considered to be of good quality. What is flawed about this design is the length of the arms coming out from the screwholes. My weight is 220 pounds and I can lift up to 45 pounds with weighted pull ups. Concrete anchors were affixed to the concrete walls of my basement with 6 of them. The pull up bar held up great for body weight pull ups however, my second set of weighted pull ups with a 25 lb addition had one anchor break I should clarify that these were industrial strength anchors, measuring 1 inch in diameter. This apparatus should hold up fine if you only perform body weight pull ups or if you don't weigh much more than I do and do weighted pull ups. It seems like it has a capacity of 250 pounds.

The service is serviceable, but it is not seductive
4/5

In my case, it was my fault that the studs were out of place on the area where I wanted to mount the piece. I found Ikea's instructions to be light on words and pictures, with few words and little visuals. In the example, 16" O. is the spacing between the studs. If you use the shorter holes, it may feel odd to use the grip spacing. My specimen also had a bit of a twist in the mounting brackets, seeming to be the result of cheap/poor welding. This problem was solved with a bracket made by the father and son team. I felt bad that my monster (14 years old) had to wait an additional two days to use the gift, regardless of how excited he always is to do a project.

A section of a side plate is welded in the wrong place, it needs to be re-done
3/5

Plaques and mounts with warped surfaces. It is important to note that the side plate for the main/long pull-up bar is upside-down. I've made a big mistake. The quality of the welds is also There is the option of redrilling the hole, but then the other side would be about 14" off, since the holes are not centered, top to bottom, on the plate. Furthermore, there is a flaw in the design. There is too little space between the pull up bar and the ground. I installed the pull up bar on the main beam across the office (normal eight foot ceiling) but the bar was so low that your feet would touch the ground if you hung from it. The bar would hang in front of me about 5'10" above my knees with my feet on the ground. There is the option of drilling new mounting holes for the square bar that screws into the joist, but I'm not sure if I will do this. Last but not least, the pull up bar is shown facing inward, toward the mounting. I can't see the point of this. The joist or beam would hit your head if you tried to do a pull up. In contrast, the box shows a pull bar which is correctly mounted, pointing away from the mounting This is an issue unit with some serious problems. There is a chance that it can be fixed, but I'm not sure if it's It would have been better to have the whole pull up bar as one piece instead of a few slip joints which are really loose, and held together with a bolt/nut which looks suspicious. A NEW UPDATE My eye was drawn to the pull up bar more closely, and it's awful. Many of the welded plates seem to be warped to the point of absurdity. A straight edge was laid on each of the mounts and plates, and the gap was wide. I think it's wrong no matter what the price point is. Metal that has warped is an indication that the weld was very poor. I hate the heat, the welds are bad, and it just doesn't look right. In addition, I have attached photos of the warps.

My situation was nearly perfect
4/5

I received the product on time and mounted it the next Pull ups with wide grips - 4 sets I have eight, five, five The height of my height is 6 feet, and the weight of my weight is 180 pounds. I am 64 years old, and will be 65 in a couple of In order to reach my goal, I need 20 dead-end dead-end dead-end dead-ends Over the course of one year, reps will drop. I did 17 workouts at the base gym about 6 months ago, but have reduced my workouts so much that I have only done 12 The struggle is real when it comes to repetitions. I should be able to increase my income by opening my own bar. Many reviews have described the hardware included as inadequate, however it actually worked fine and appears to be When torqued up with pre-torques, the lag bolts turned out fine Mounted in 16" on top of 1/2" sheet rock with holes drilled in it In the garage, studs run across the center of the wall. As a whole, I used all 6 lag bolts, having tested with two, then four, and ultimately I felt 6 were necessary to ensure stability. In a single syllable The grip is wide and the grip is tight It is much appreciated that the grip bar aligns parallel to the wall as opposed to others that previously/currently used a two-way grip bar It requires two additional bolts to install this piece of bar. grips do not feel too narrow or wide to get a good grip on, and they are a comfortable size. There is a thick, black, soft pad covering all grip areas, resulting in a comfortable grip. The padding was not damaged when it was shipped. There are no scratches or burrs on any of the metal components, and they are all mirror black and smooth. Can you please explain why there are Pulling a heavy bar up, the cross bar is sure to twist, move, a little, to accommodate the wide grip. One reviewer pointed out that the bar itself consists of a round section with a concave surface where the bolts connect with, and through which they attach to, the square bars. In this case, there is only a very small contact point between the two bars, resulting in a little wiggle as you pull in a quick motion There is no way I could possibly strip the nuts, shear the bolts, or warp the bars if I tightened the bolts completely. Apart from that, I find the unit to be solid, durable, and well worth the slightly less than thirty dollars it cost. There is a closed-captioned document included When that's all you have, the end wrench for nut/bolt connectors does the job but it is quite thin and slips a lot if you do not handle it carefully. If you are going to tighten the lag bolts using this, don't do it. Even with pre-tensioned lag bolts, it would be difficult If drilling holes is not possible, then it is very difficult. However, one washer was missing out of six, but everything else was in place. In comparison to other brands I researched throughout the past year, I found this unit to be the best value for the price This is for All I could find was a buck.
