Yes. I'm 180 pounds and do step-ups with it. I also make sure to keep my weight off the edge of the step and do step-ups on the lengthwise side rather than the head or foot.
Selected User Reviews For Marcy Home Gym Exercise Fitness Training Workout Flat Board Weight Lifting Bench
For the money spent, this is a good buy. Marcy makes some excellent equipment, and this bench is an excellent example of a strong value equation. The bench arrived in good condition, and the hardware was well-organized. with easy-to-follow assembly instructions I have a Nautilus workout bench that is a little high off the ground and in the flat position--it went together quickly and without issues. For bench presses, my feet just scrape the floor. As a result, I needed a lower bench, and this one was perfect. It's low to the ground, making it ideal for most users to gain solid footing for weight exercises when that's a concern. I'm about 6' tall, so the fact that the Nautilus bench gives me bad footing in the flat position surprised me. When I slightly raise the back rest, it raises my back and places my feet on the floor. That isn't the proper position for a standard bench press, which is why I ordered this simple, non-adjustable bench press. Bench that can be adjusted It functions admirably. It's light enough to carry easily but substantial enough to feel substantial, with nice finishes. a nice gloss on a smooth painted/powder-coated surface Soft-touch vinyl creates a relaxing environment on this bench. The only reason I docked it a star is because the plastic end caps come loose far too frequently. They can easily become dislodged and fall to the floor if you only brush against them or pick up the bench to move it. I'll figure out a way to reinforce them so they stay in place better, but it's ridiculous that I have to. Also, losing the plastic trim pieces on exercise equipment irritates me. With modern manufacturing, there's no excuse for these items not to fit snugly and stay put. other than scrounging or being cheap The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of that. Maybe a single point, but they need to improve if they want to get a perfect score. Aside from that, I highly recommend Marcy and this bench, or their newer version, which I believe is an inch higher off the ground.
This makes it easier for my 5'2" wife to use in her workouts and for me to do tricep (body weight) dips! br>br>Finding a piece of equipment that fit in with the rest of my collection was difficult. This white frame is paired with a black bench. The top was perfect. br>br>It arrived on time. The unit is simple to put together. Initial quality appears to be good (though only time will tell!). When it comes to buying a bench, padding is a major consideration for me. It'll break down quickly if it's too soft, and it'll be uncomfortable to use if it's too firm. This Marcy bench is exactly what you've been looking for. I'm confident that this Marcy bench will last for a long time without the inner foam breaking down, based on its reputation and industry experience.
This is essentially the same as Marcy's Deluxe flat bench, but at a lower price; the design (color and logo) may be from a few years ago, but the construction is identical to the current model. It's simple to put together and appears to be quite durable. At this price point, it appears to be of higher quality than similar utility benches. It would be better if it included non-alcoholic beverages. Rubber feet pads are recommended, but if you're putting it on a rubber mat, it shouldn't slip too much.
BEWARE! It was necessary to use spacers between the four base brackets in order to align them with the four threaded holes underneath the padded top. The only other option was to file or drill the holes in the brackets to make them larger, but I chose not to do so for fear of making the holes too large for the washers. The packaging also lacked a fourth washer. I believe the unit will work, but Marcy's machinists and quality control receive a failing grade on this one.
This was a Christmas present for my husband. He uses it in conjunction with his squat rack to lift weight. It's something he enjoys - For someone who is 6'1 and lifts a lot of weight, this works well. According to him, there isn't a lot of cushioning, which is good for lifting.
Good value for money. When putting it together, I recommend not tightening the screws until all of the screws have been inserted into the thread.
This is an excellent bench for the money. There is some padding, but it is not excessive for heavy benches. I was a little hesitant about getting the white bench, but it turned out beautifully and is holding up well. I would strongly advise it.
It's fairly simple to put together. Sturdy. Long enough to lie down and perform chest presses.
