Questions & Answers

So, this bench can't hold more than 500 pounds? Since I'm 220 pounds and can bench over 300 pounds, what are my options?

Seriously, I've only had this bench for two days. I'm 230 pounds, and I benched 999 pounds in flat position, which I held for a long time. In comparison to $500 benches from professional weight sites, this bench is unbeatable for the price. In an incline position, however, I will not recommend lifting more than the recommended limit of 500 lbs. Is there anyone else out there who can bench 999 pounds and beat my record?

When it's completely flat, how tall is it?

It is NOT the number sixteen. 5 inches! With the cushion in place and the seat and back in the "flat" position (seat and back in-between), The bench is 19 on this line. 25" tall.

Is it possible to turn it around?

No, it doesn't reach a true 90-degree angle. It will be possible to lay the seat flat. The back of the chair reaches an angle of about 85 degrees from vertical.

In comparison to Gym benches, where the V appears to drop, the inclined seat appears to rise too high. Is it possible to use this bench for inclined presses?

The seat can be adjusted to three different angles (0, 15, 30 degrees) and the back can be adjusted to seven different angles (0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 degrees). The seat appears to be set at 30 degrees, while the back appears to be set at 75 degrees in the photo.

Manufactured in a poor manner
3/5

The quality is poor. 1. br>br> The bench's back padding is not properly aligned. When it's all screwed in, it's pushed in about 1-inch. Because of the locking mechanism's alignment, it's 2 inches to the right. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br The section connecting the backrest and seat to the central beam is incorrectly measured. Because the fit isn't tight enough, you can sway the backrest left and right about 3 inches when it's put together. br>br>I've included a video that shows how it moves back and forth.

Poor quality and a lack of customer service by the company
3/5

Edited: Due to the appalling customer service I've received in trying to get a replacement bench, I've reduced my rating to one star. In the piece that is welded to the frame that holds the backrest in place, the threads are stripped. They want to send me parts to fix something that is welded, and I've sent them pictures and had several very bad emails with their Customer Service. They told me at one point that they couldn't help me because I purchased it in May (but I only got it on July 9). br>br>I HAVE NO RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT OR COMPANY. br>br>This is a decent product for a home gym and a fitness enthusiast; I would have given it a higher rating if the back rest didn't have a problem with the metal bracket that the pop out fits into (to adjust the backrest) and tightens to secure the back. Because it is a welded-on part, the backrest can no longer be tightened, and it is now loose and insecure. I emailed the company a week ago and have yet to receive a response, much less a solution. I'm dissatisfied with the company's lack of response. Although I think it's a nice product, spending $200 and waiting almost two months for delivery has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Some of the bolts are missing and some of the parts are rusted
3/5

Some of the bolts were not machined properly to fit the hex wrench that was included, and some of the parts were rusted. Returning for a refund isn't practical due to the time and effort required to disassemble and repackage the item. The company has agreed to send replacement parts, but it will still be necessary to disassemble and reassemble the machine. It's a major pain in the neck. The company is refusing to give me a refund for the inconvenience.

It's not as simple to put together as a taco
3/5

It's pointless. I'm excited for you to start losing these corona pounds now that your package has arrived. but alas. I'm just sitting here, drinking right now. I didn't even get past the first assembly step. It appears that the bolt used to attach the feet was not threaded properly, as it simply chews through the bold like pizza. They provide you with a phone number. br>br> However, my mailbox, like my stomach, is overflowing. Bye-bye, summer body 2020 fantasies. We'll see what happens after I send an email. I was going to return it, but the box didn't handle shipping well, so I ripped through the rest of it like the fat kid I am when it comes to Twinkie packages. br>br>Summary: br>br>
1. The threading is incorrectbr>2. The Customer Service Mailbox is currently full.
3. Unfortunately, I am unable to exercise. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> They informed me that the part was not in stock and that getting it or returning it would take at least 60 days. My only option is to wait 60 days because the box was damaged in shipping. What kind of customer service is that, exactly?.

I'm at a loss as to where to begin
3/5

There are numerous positive and negative aspects to this product. It appears to be attractive at first glance, but as a welder/fabricator, I noticed a few welds with which I disagree. Now, I understand that this is not a structural project, but come on, CAP's quality control is either half-assed or their welders are inept. Pin holes or incomplete fusion were found in the welds, which can be fixed in a matter of seconds. Metal shavings were also strewn about, which I assume came from when they tapped the holes, but come on, couldn't you clean them up? There were a couple of dents, nothing major, but people, take pride in your work. I always tell my employees and students that if you wouldn't stamp your name on it, don't send it out. It's as if they dropped it or hit it with a cutting tool because there was a burr on a piece that allows you to set the back pad at various degrees of slant. While it didn't do much harm, it still cut one of my fingers nicely. The piece that allows the seat to incline is completely out of alignment with the pin. When the pads are all the way down, they don't sit completely flat. Again, I'm a welder/fabricator by trade, and I don't believe they checked to see if everything fit correctly. Oh, and when I opened the package, there was rust in a couple of places.

It works, but it irritates me
3/5

This bench appears to be very sturdy and does everything it claims to do. However, it's possible that it's just me. The space between the two padded sections is far too large and always in the wrong place. My tailbone is always right in the crack, even though I am 6 feet 3 inches tall. My head hangs off the edge if I slide up. With my rack setup and the base of this bench, if I slide down, my chest will not be properly under the bar. I've tried stuffing shirts and towels into the gap. It probably wouldn't matter if I was two or three inches shorter. For a while, I ignored it, but now that I'm lifting more weight, it bothers me. I'll keep using it until I can find a suitable replacement.

Benchmarking your financial situation The shipment was shipped UPS and the box was nearly destroyed, as it was with other bulky CAP Barbell products
4/5

Nonetheless, the product is in good working order. br>br>It took me under an hour to put it together, more like 30 minutes. It was quite simple, especially after putting together a CAP power rack. Exactly the same situation. br>br>I'm not worried about exceeding this bench's weight capacity; it's very sturdy. The adjustment bracket is the only flaw, and this may be a matter of personal taste. I dislike the pull knob that has a curved bar and a pin to keep it in place. The bench, on the other hand, has never failed to stay in the position in which it was placed. Another disadvantage is that the bench isn flat and even. Because one leg is higher than the other, I had to use a piece of plywood to shim the bottom. For a low-cost home gym, this isn't a big deal, but in a commercial gym, it's a big deal. After adjusting, the back and seat lined up nicely, and the bench is neither too firm nor too soft. The price, of course, as well as the adjustable positions and the items on wheels, are all advantages. If you need an adjustable bench, this bench is well worth the money.
