The quality is excellent, and I'm not sure what you mean when you say it will be disconnected, but to remove it, simply undo the Velcro and adjust the tightness to your liking until you are no longer able to wear it.
I'm 5'3" and weigh 198 pounds, and I ordered an extra large based on the size chart and my shirt size.
Yes, I believe it will work; I've been wearing the belt for a similar purpose and have noticed a gradual improvement in the size of my lower waist.
Perhaps a large will be the most suitable size.

I'm 5'4" tall and weigh 145 lbs. I selected a medium size. My waist is finally back to pre-pregnancy size after working out in the belt three days a week and about four hours a day every day. I loved it; it almost had a corset effect on me. I've been waist training for three weeks, and these are my results with just THIS belt.
The bomb. The additional strap adds much-needed compression.
I just got it today and it's perfect because I followed the waist size guidelines. It is a perfect fit! So far, I'm really enjoying it.
I ordered a large based on the reviews; I'm 5'2" tall and weigh 57 pounds. To be honest, it's ideal. I debated for a long time about which product to purchase, but I'm glad I did. I'm not sure I'd wear it under my clothes because it might be too bulky, but I'll give it a shot when I go for a walk. as soon as I get home I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out!.
In a size xL, it's a perfect fit for a plus woman wearing a 16-inch waist. Pant size 18 in the United States.
I usually wear waistbands that wrap around and Velcro once, but this one has a second Velcro strap that allows you to pull it even tighter. It was a little smaller than I had anticipated, but that won't be an issue once I lose some weight.
So far, everything has gone well. This waist trainer's design and color scheme appeal to me. It's a lot less difficult to put on and take off than a corset waist trainer. I've only worn it once during a workout, but it stayed put without needing to be adjusted. I'll start wearing it more often, even to Zumba classes, to see if I can get this gut out of the way.
Okay, so I had high hopes for this waist trainer. I was overjoyed when I saw all of the positive feedback. I've been looking for a waist trainer with velcro that tightens as this one does. br>I got my trainer about three weeks ago and loved it at first, but while working out, I felt something poke me in the back. One of the reindeer's plastic ribs was poking out when I reached back. I was so disappointed because I had just bought it and was confident that I had finally found my match because of the positive reviews. I would advise you to spend your money on this because you will have to buy a new one soon after. br>br>Update 10/16/2018: Great concept, poor qualitybr>br> I was contacted by, I assume, whoever sells this waist trainer and asked if I wanted a replacement, to which I replied yes. I've only used the new one once, so I can't really comment on it. But if you never see another UPDATE from me, I guess you've got your answer. I raised the stars from a 2 to a 4 because they contacted me and asked for a replacement, which I believe demonstrates confidence in your product as well as exceptional customer service; I still like the way it fits and the concept. Overall, I like the product, even the one that had previously burst at the seam.
