Questions & Answers
This is what I use it for, and I'm very happy with it.
1/8" thick and dense It performs admirably when used with heavy exercise equipment.
I have no idea what the item's 'weight' is. I am aware that it is a high-quality (not low-cost) exercise equipment floor mat.
This mat is meant to protect your floors, not to absorb shock. It will reduce noise from your treadmill's feet striking or sliding against your flooring, but it will not absorb sound or vibration. Thick rubber mats used in commercial kitchens and industrial applications are a good option if you want something that will absorb and dissipate impacts. They're usually about a foot thick and will soak up a lot of the 'thunk.' thunk- While you're running, you'll hear a loud thunk.

It's made of hard PVC rather than soft rubber, as I've seen in the past. It's on a basement floor with vinyl tile, so I'm not sure about the noise or impact absorption of the pad, but it's doing a great job of protecting my flooring from scratches. br>br>*Update August 2020
This thing has taken almost daily use for the last year and a half and still shows no real wear, it hasn't moved or slid around, and it's held up great! It has also completely protected our vinyl plank flooring from the treadmill's abuse, which was our initial goal. br>br>Strongly suggested! br>br>.
With a little extra all-around support, our 82" long X 34" wide treadmill fits perfectly. round. Also, the mat is made of a fairly heavy material, despite the fact that it is only about 1/8" thick. It is estimated that the mat weighs about 6 pounds. 5 pounds. On a hard surface, however, it performs admirably, allowing the treadmill to roll easily across the floor. CARPETING, ON THE OTHER HAND, WOULD NOT BE SUITABLE.
On a carpet, it does not work well: (I threw in a couple of 5-star reviews. ) Under the treadmill, on the carpet, I ran mile after mile. It's. OK. The mat is thin, and if the bottom surface doesn't grip, it will shrivel. It is most likely to work better on flat surfaces. Hardwood, tile, and other types of flooring.
I bought it to protect the carpet, and it feels very solid, not flimsy, when you touch it. We've had it for over three weeks, and the mat is still in place! We use our treadmill twice a day, and the mat is still in place! A ten out of ten recommendation.
This mat is far too thin to absorb impact, absorb sound, or even protect your floor. The quality is poor, and I strongly suggest that you consider other options.
I've had this mat under my treadmill for three months and it's still in excellent condition. This is currently on carpet, and the carpeting beneath the treadmill appears to be in perfect condition. Definitely a good investment!.
For an elliptical I recently purchased, I needed a larger mat. This one was ideal, and the measurements are correct. In addition, the quality is excellent. It's the perfect balance of thin and thick. It stays put and protects my floors by providing support and padding. I'm extremely pleased with it!.
Despite the fact that it has never been used, it has performed admirably. Seriously, it looks great and I'm sure it works, but I can't say for sure because it sits there with all the other unused equipment.
