It is made of stainless steel. It ought to work out.
The US and European bow shackles are the two most common types of bow shackle. The European style has a pin that is the same size as the bow's diameter, while the American style has an oversized pin that is usually two sizes (in sixteenths) larger than the bow's diameter. For example, a 3/8" bow would have a larger pin (7/16" or 1/2" depending on the manufacturer). So, with that out of the way, you're looking for a European bow with a 1 3/8" inside diameter (the ID for the US style is 1"). We usually supply the European style bow unless otherwise requested, as the European bow has enough room for a 1" diameter bolt. To ensure you receive the correct shackle, please order as fulfilled by seller rather than fulfilled by Amazon, and we will ensure you receive the European Bow. I hope this has been of assistance. No, please see this Productbr>B077RGC6GP for a chain with large links and bow shackles on both ends.
On this subject, there are numerous viewpoints and theories. One foot of chain for every foot of boat length is the most basic method. This applies to a wide range of anchor designs, hull configurations, and sea conditions. In addition, 6 to 10 feet of chain for small to medium boats is a popular choice for daytime inshore and lake boating. The length of the chain is determined by the weight of the anchor, the design of the hull, the sea, the wind, and the bottom conditions. Almost always, the longer the better. "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it," as many sailors will tell you.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. A chain. Never complains as he sits at the bottom of the lake. By grabbing my wife's ankle, it once attempted to drag her to the bottom of the lake. She became aware of what was happening and was able to break the chain. The chain was reprimanded by us.
I'd say this is overkill for an 18' flats boat, but I go out of the inlet into deeper water with some current, so it works great. I'd even say this is overkill for a small CC boat like a 21 and under.
Extremely substantial- duty chain that looks fantastic and will withstand years of exposure to the elements. My purchase was for the purpose of securing a farm gate, and it replaced several galvanized steel chains that had become rusted (and looked terrible) after a few years. This chain is made of type 316 stainless steel, which means it won't corrode while in use. I am overjoyed!.
The brand name and images must be changed because they are misleading. I purchased a 1/4 and a 5/16 inch drill bit. Both are manufactured in China.
This item is extremely durable. I haven't had the opportunity to put it to use yet, but it's the real deal.
These were used in place of the original security for a floating dock. I don't think these will need to be replaced for a long time; they're very affordable for stainless steel, and they come with all of the necessary hardware.
3/8 shackles on the end of the chain are very nice.
That is precisely what I was looking for. We'll see how long it lasts in salt water.
