It is, indeed, supple. It's what I use to make horse halters out of.
Yes, but not for use as a lifeline. Remove about 3 inches of core from one end and 3 inches of outer braid from the other. Using extra braid from the other end, insert the core from one end into the other end. Then use a 1 mm cord to wrap around the splice.
Get a 10mm static rope at the very least. br>Static rope is thicker and stronger than this, and it resists the bark eating away at the rope. You can make your lineman's rope, flipline, and other life support ropes all with the same rope. br>Purchase 8mm prusiks. Use a different rope or a different size rope every time. The smaller rope has more surface contact with the larger rope, making it easier to grip in the event of a fall or to ascend without slipping.
There isn't much. I am blown away.

This line was purchased because it is time for me to re-fit my boat. The old running rigging is worn and needs to be replaced (much like me). I didn't go with the new 'gee-whiz' because I'm a purist. Because this stuff worked before, it should be as good as, if not better than, what it was before. I chose these because they were made in the United States by a reputable manufacturer. When you're out on the open water sailing, there's no substitute for quality. I'm sure other companies make good products as well, but I wanted my purchase to stay at home where it could be most useful. Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly test your product, which also happens to look fantastic.
I'm not sure I'd use it on the boat with a heavy load because I'm not sure how good it is. However, it performs admirably and costs a fraction of what lifting lines on my davits would. The line has a pleasant feel in the hand and appears to be quite durable. It would be nice to see information about the site's load limits, but this is a good line for everyday use.
For a flagpole, this is an excellent rope. It melts nicely on the ends and knots easily. 5/16 width was a perfect match for the replacement and truck pulley. While this rope resists short stretch at the cleat, it does stretch along the long span when subjected to wind load, yielding at least an eighteen-inch bow at thirty-five feet. the length of a foot Prior to this, there was a double-check. With a four-inch bow, the braid cotton lasted 28 years.
Excellent quality and handling properties. My needs are met by the color.
Rope is versatile and simple to use. The color is beautiful and goes well with our pontoon.
It's well-made and sturdy.
Prior to the arrival of our German company, we wanted to re-string our flagpole. We yanked the 30' pole out, re-strung it, and re-set it as soon as the rope arrived. I prefer the silver rope because it complements the brushed aluminum pole and blends in better.
I used it to replace the halyard line on my 27 Catalina.
