Questions & Answers
The spike has no markings on it, but it is well made for small cordage work.
That is a manufacturing question for which I am unable to provide an answer. Call the business and inquire about the stainless steel they use.
The sheath for the MYA009 is included.

I'd been wanting a bigger marlin spike for a while, and my current one is from Camillus, which comes with a folding blade: .
Even the most tense knots become loose as a result of this. I bought it to keep in my Bob and thought it'd be good for paracord, but it's a lot bigger than I expected, so it'd also work well for larger rope. The sheath that came with it is surprisingly nice; it's not cheap vynyl, but it's leather and really nice, with a braded hole for tying a la yard to the spike for use in naval sailing. I'm in a great mood right now!.
Everything about it is perfect, from the size to the quality. It's strange to praise a tapered piece of metal, but this thing is perfect for any rope work I've ever needed.
This is one of my favorite tools; I use it all the time and adore it. The sheath, on the other hand, made its way to the trash can in no time. Simply being near the sea caused a rivet to rust, turning everything in my ditty bag orange and necessitating the use of scotch tape. Despite my utter displeasure with that minor mishap, I still give this marlinspike five stars. br>br>Despite my utter displeasure with that minor mishap, I still give it five stars. If you really need such a high-quality tool, I'm sure you can make one yourself.
This has essentially become a part of my daily carry. Not in that tacticool way, of course. But in a way that says, "This is on my belt every day. " I do a lot of work with rope, and it has a lot of applications. I'm afraid I'm not a sailor. Simply put, he is a man who ties a lot of people and things together.
I believe that using it on any smallknots of paracord or clothes line would be more trouble than it's worth, but it could be done by an expert hand.
The sheath is a bit of a shambles.
It is designed for small cordage work and is an excellent product. I won't splice any wire larger than 4mm in diameter with it. It should not be used to open and tighten shackles because it will bend them. Small shackles can be opened with the cut. The leather sheath is well-made and functional.
