The pin on this 1/2" shackle is 1/2". You are correct in that there are two types of bow shackles: those with oversized pins, which are usually 5/8" on a 1/2" shackle, and those with both the bow and pin being 1/2". The hole would need to be slightly larger than 0. This pin will still fit if you measure 50" in length. It's possible that it'll be a close fit.
The Breaking Load for this 1/2" (12mm) Bow Shackle is 13640lbs, and the Working Load Limit is 3410lbs with a 4:1 safety factor.
The bow's and the pin's actual diameters are both 0. 472" (12 mm)
